After the hiking trip, Luca wasn’t very excited to go camping of all things. He liked nature sure, who didn’t? But Torrent was known to be a bit on the way, how did Luca put it? Oh, right. A taskmaster. That’s how.

Luca sighed as he dropped the supplies he carried.

“You know Torrent, I’d rather just watch a documentary…”

He was met with a cold gaze from his father figure but the words had a hint of warmth to them.

“I don’t doubt that; however, somethings are better in person.”

Luca tilted his head to the side and looked around.

The nearby lake looked pretty and the foliage was already well into transiting to fall. They were surrounded by orange, yellow, red, and brown leaves. While Luca thought this was a lovely place, it wasn’t what Torrent had meant…

He looked at his mentor for some kind of lead but either he didn’t notice or had no intentions of spoiling the surprise.

Between the two of them, camp was made just before nightfall and frankly, Luca was tired. His muscles were sore and his eyes heavy.

Without waiting for Torrent, Luca climbed into bed and closed his eyes.

“Luca, wake up.”

He opened his eyes to Torrent's voice.

“What? It’s the middle of the night…”

He only smiled and motioned for Luca to follow him. Soon he was the only one within the tent; with a frown, Luca left his warm blanket behind and entered the brisk autumn air.

Torrent waited nearby and Luca went to him.

“Okay, what was so important?”

The blue haired Æstrolos only pointed upwards to the sky. Luca followed the sight line and gasped.

The night sky was covered in thousands of pinpricks of lights. It sparkled like the sky itself was filled with the most precious of gems.

“Thank you, for showing me this Torrent. You were right. Some things are better in person.”
