It was a few days before Halloween, and Huey decided to make some spooky treats.

Mainly Halloween-themed cookies, as he was aware a few others were making treats too.

Unknown to him, however, his kids had plans of their own with the treats.

They decided to try their own version of the recipe with some interesting ingredients they found!

For now, though, Huey had to get the correct ingredients out.

He put the bowl down, along with the flour, sweets, and... whatever else he needed.

He put all the ingredients into the bowl, stirring them together with a spoon and gently placing some food colouring in.

Now, he needed to place it in the oven...

He referred to his cook book, trying to find the time he needed to put in.

This was the perfect time for his kids to strike! Lia quickly went over to the bowl and poured in some of a strange purple liquid.

Lux on the other hand was panicking at the idea of being caught, while Lum was keeping watch.

The liquid bubbled in the cookie mix, letting out a strange scent of burning lavender.

Lia giggled to herself as she grabbed Lux and ran off, Lum quickly jumping behind them.

This should have added a pop to the mix, and maybe even some yummy aftertaste!

Soon after they fled the kitchen, Huey came back, picking up the bowl and placing it in the oven.

He also took this time to make Halloween-themed drinks, pouring some grape juice into glasses with gently placed edible gummies, along with some ice cubes dropped in.

The gummies were small skulls and a coffin- gently visible in the red-purple liquid that was the grape juice.

He made several drinks, all with the same theme, along with a few colour-dyed waters.

Huey then placed the drinks into the fridge, checking the timer.

Seems it was done!

He put on his oven-mits, taking the bowl out.

Then he took the dough out of the bowl, rolling it with the rolling pin.

Once it was flattened out, he got out the cookie cutters!

The shapes of the cookies cutters were a variety of different Halloween-themed shapes; pumpkins, ghosts, bats, skulls, and plenty more.

He placed the cookie cutters down, cutting out the shapes and leaving the left-overs as treats for his kids.

After that, the cookies were done! Now the kids could decorate.

Of course, that is something the kids really wanted to do!

By now, they completely forgot what they did to the cookies.

They all ran over once Huey announced that he had all the decorating items out.

With smiles on their faces, they happily decorated the cookies, eating the spare pieces while doing so.

Unbeknownst to them, as they ate the leftovers, their colours were inverting!

It seemed that the liquid caused inverted colours to that who eats it!

It took quite a while until one of them noticed...

Lux looked over to his siblings, realizing the colour change.

It was quite the sight to behold, actually! A purple Lum and a cyan Lia!

Worst of all... an... an orange Lux! It caused him to have a bit of a panic attack, as Lia laughed and Lum... just seemed uninterested.

How would they explain this to their dad?! Magical evil cookies! He absolutely could NOT give these out to everyone!

...Or, could he? It would be an interesting trick! At least, if it was not permanent...

Thankfully, it seemed their prayers were answered, as the inverted colours left as quickly as they came.

They would have to tell Huey, but... they were hoping he would still serve them! A fun Halloween trick this year to lighten the day even more!

They finished decorating the cookies, putting them in the fridge with a little note for Huey to see when he decided to take them.

They then ran off to bed, like the good little pacas they could be!
