In all blatant honesty Corvus dispiesed Haunted Eve, what was once a human tradition to originally celebrate the afterlife and those who had passed as well as being very culturally important to older aspects of humanity like Paganism, yet it had somehow morphed and festered over the years to something as displeasing as Christmas. Haunted Eve had lost its whole original meaning in Corvus’s books, now, now it was just another pathetic excuse of a holiday where young Aphex’s did stupid things and assumed because it’s Haunted Eve that there would be no reprocussions for their actions, that the holiday was all about candy and pumpkin carving and trick or treating, well, to Corvus they were wrong and honestly nobody in their right mind would even try convincing him otherwise.

What bothered him the most though was it wasn’t unusual that young adolescents would dare each other to approach his and Grimms estate, or even to try and venture within the gardens closest to the main Manor House. Corvus knew why they did so, he and Grimm were feared criminals akin to what the old days called the mafia, so logically he knew cocky little kids would always try to worm their way in to prove or point and Corvus was sick of it. What he and Grimm did in this world wasn’t some game to be played, everything was apart of a plan and Haunted Eve was the one time of year that Corvus couldn’t actually plan for because of the immense stupidity of others and the overwhelming amount of spawn in the world. Sure over the years it probably didn’t help that he’d killed a few or taken them as slaves so it only spurred on the pathetic acts of others but their must be consequences after all.

Corvus had taken precautions as always this year but they always felt as if it just fuelled a fire. Misfortune and Annihilation often patrolled the outskirts to the gardens and closest spots to the forest, the two large Dephx were enough to put most off sure but some ballsy kids would still try, if a few went missing along the way then so be it. The Dephx needed to feed anyway and it wasn’t Corvus’s fault they’d gotten too near to the beasts.

Voltaire patrolled the skies with his pack of Vikari, circling the estate almost akin to vultures and diving down on those who got too close to the estate for comfort in hopes to scare them off. Of course the VOIX helped too, as did the Cahri but they still came.

This year Corvus had honestly had enough of this troublesome event and had decided to take matters into his own claws, this year he’d take to patrolling the estate, that ought to stop anyone from coming back next year, he and Grimm had never made an appearance towards adolescents so hopefully this was the turning point.

“Why do these pathetic excuses of Aphex’s think that trespassing is a perfectly acceptable thing to do” He grumbled through the voice modulator as he walked with Alpha, his main Cahri. The creature simply let out a few grumbles in response but kept close to Corvus’s side as they walked the garden perimeter. They’d honestly been walking for some time now and hadn’t seen another soul, which honestly was a blessing as that meant the Dephx and Vikari were doing their job but then Alpha seemed to have perked up and stopped by Corvus’s side, his head tilted on the direction of the rose garden. Corvus could’ve growled if he had the emotional capability, the rose garden was special to him and Grimm, Corvus had even planted the largest rose bush himself as the blood red colours matched Grimms perfectly, if someone were to even snap a twig out of place then so help whatever god these bastards worshipped.

“What do you think you’re doing” Corvus growled deeply as he took in the scene before him, two young Aphex, probably 15 at most, had decided to climb into the rose garden in their sorry excuses for costumes and were currently too close to Grimms rose bush for his liking.

At the sound of his voice both the young Aphex’s let out squeaks and instantly went to run in the opposite direction, though they where quickly cut off by Alpha who was snapping his jaws loudly at the pair and forcing them to back up towards Corvus.

“Please, please sir we didn’t want t-to come here!” The smaller of the two began to sign rapidly as they were forced to turn their attention to Corvus. “We-we got dared to come here!”

Corvus just stood with his arms crossed as Voltaire decided to land directly behind him, the Vikari must’ve tried to scare these two off but they’d managed to be brave enough to get passed him, now the beast was enraged and let out a loud roar from behind Corvus which only made the two cower even more.

“And what exactly was the dare? To trespass into mine and my husband's estate? And do what exactly, I’m sure you aren’t here to admire the flowers” He spoke before taking a step closer to them. “And don’t try spinning tales with me, you’re lucky I didn’t command to have you killed on sight, my pets here are playing nice, for now”

The taller Aphex was visually shaking but managed to sign. “We got dared to bring back a single rose-“

“You WHAT” Corvus spat as he advanced on the two, Voltaire traipsing behind and Alpha keeping them from moving. He looked down on them and then let out a light chuckle, of course it was fake but they wouldn’t know. “Is that all?” He sighed and simply waltzed over to one of the more random rose bushes that had just started to bloom, using his claws he plucked one from its stem and held it out for the taller Aphex to take. “Well go on, if it’s only a rose you desire then here, take it, what do I need with a stupid thing anyway” He gave a half shrug and let out a light laugh again, to which the taller Aphex dared to join in at whilst the smaller still looked on in horror.

“Thanks?” The taller one said as he gingerly took the rose from Corvus' hand as if he was taking some explosive that might be set off. He was slow to move and nudged his friend who just stood stock still. “We’ll er, we’ll leave now”

As soon as the taller Aphex turned Corvus snapped his fingers together and Voltaire simply lunged forwards and bit the poor sod in two, swallowing the upper half of the body with ease as the bottom half remained standing for a few seconds before falling flat. The Vikari spat out the rose soon after, along with the taller Aphex’s hand that had taken it. Corvus simply ignored the now crying and whimpering Aphex that was left in the garden and picked them up before holding them out to them.

“Let this be a lesson to you, and anyone who thinks trespassing on my estate is worth it” he dumped the bloodied rose and hand into the Aphex’s.

“Don’t”
