As the last course of the day finishes, the classroom slowly empties. She slowly packs her books in her bag but sees something unexpected inside: a letter had been slipped in her belongings during the day...
Still sat at her table, she picks the envelope and reads its contents.

A love letter.

It was a love letter from the most popular guy of the school. For her. Why? How to react to such a letter? She has so rarely spoken with him in the past... He, for sure, is a kind person, but why?

She finishes packing her books, a bit flustered. The classroom is now empty, except for her and a strange girl, standing near the entrance and staring at her with an annoyed look.

"You. I don't know what happened between you two but stop it! You can't stay around him and what is this?? Don't tell me-"
"A letter... from him." she answers, with a low voice.
"Haaaah? You gotta be kidding me! No way he is interested in-"

Her sudden love rival rushes to her desk and peeks into the letter.

"You gotta be kidding me??" she reacts, trying to take the letter from her hands. A hand grabs her wrist from behind, with enough strength to stop her from doing so.

"Aren't you ashamed?" the boy whispers in the angry girl's ear, so low no one else would hear his words. Though his cold face makes it clear he doesn't like this angry girl at all. "I've been patient with you but don't you dare keep following me, talking to me, annoying people around me, and do not approach her ever again. Got it?".

The angry girl freezes. She can't stomach what he heard... This guy is the love of her life, the chosen one, he would never say this horrible things to her and so coldly??
But the truth is... He did say this, ignoring how she would feel, maybe he really wanted to hurt her. The boy releases the hand of the out-of-competition love rival, who immediately runs away to find a safe place to hide and cry.
Still sat at her table, our calm young woman watches them silently behind her glasses, puzzled. She doesn't understand what just happened, but at least the angry girl ran away so the trouble's gone?
The boy approaches her, crouching to face her.

"Are you alright? She... she didn't do anything to you, right??" He asks, suddenly showing his worry and care for her.

She looks into his eyes but lowers her gaze and stares at the letter instead, a bit too shy to look at him.

"I-I'm fine..."

His eyes follow hers and notices the letter on the table.

"About that letter... Can I take it back?" he asked.

Her eyes open wide, surprised.

"No, hmh, I mean- I really do like you! I, huh- I just want to tell you properly, face to face, how much I care about you."
