Her kind were the product of clumsy fairies, throwing potions over moths. As numbers grew, the fairies observed the quirky creatures, they were surprised to see they came in only two forms. Some were able to breathe, and were wrongly labelled as male and female, while others were completely sterile - considered genderless. As the fertile ones bred together, it was assumed they were male and female - it was only as the fairies observed the breeding colonies, they were surprised to see they were all female. These were creatures that could breed through parthenogenesis.

The colony numbers soon erupted, with the breeding females laying four eggs apiece. Each creature was soon willing to take up roles, some would spend all day gathering food for their colony mates, others would take the collected plants and, with the genius of the fairies, would create all manner of painkillers, love potions and treatments. Others developed skills in alchemy, others would behave as fighters, protecting the colonies - even attacking the observing fairies on a rare occassion.

The fairies were certain that they needed to create one final Motcha, one that could act as a leader for them in their absence - the fairies had other projects to work on, and would have limited time to monitor and ensure the Motchas were still developing in order to fit into their niche. It had taken some time to lure in and snare the perfect moth in order to create this Queen, and within minutes of ensnaring the moth - this was an Emperor Moth, the perfect creature to build into a queen.

They had only a single drop of potion, the fairies were hovering over it when a freak accident lead to the moth breaking its restraint and damaging the delicate folds of a fairies wing. The resulting drops of blood on the moth’s body, mixed with the drops of potion resulted in the most human looking of all the Motcha.

This was to be their queen, Nylissa. At first the Motcha did not appreciate her, she was more human than any other, whilst most only had a humanoid form, mottled by their fantastic colour schemes from the merging of their moth bloodlines. She also had a belly button, and fully developed breaths with nipples and full hips.

It had taken her some time to earn the trust of the other Motcha, originally beginning her time within the colony working with the genderless members of the community. She was especially skilled at alchemy, able to create potions to heal the fragile wings and broken limbs of the fighters and warriors in the community. It surprised her that the only flaw her kind had was their sassy attitude, otherwise they were small and cute, not the kind of creatures you’d expect to battle.

Over time, she rose in ranks, eventually she sat amongst the now aged community of the original Motchas, now they were aware of the desire to have a leader. She was selected thanks to her ability to communicate with the fairies, which some of the older members believed to be their god.

As queen, she set about making the roles within the group official, setting rules and schedules to ensure the community ran far more smoothly than it ever had before. She also began work with the fairies to attempt to build a more official council, aiming to improve the welfare of her community and took herself two wives. These wives had been selected because of their lengthy hair and beautiful colours, and their ability to be mated every fortnight, to produce the queen’s eggs, which shined with a blue glow in moonlight.

Each evening, now as their queen, she would transform into a moth, followed by her two concubines to sit atop the leaves in the deep forest where the motcha made themselves at home. With the smell of pine teasing her nose, the sights of the workers of the colony returning home and the soft glow of the moon through the canopy, she would entertain her wives, proud to be a member of her kind.
