It was too late when Gecko realised that she had flown far further than she intended, having gotten lost in thought about what she could hunt for dinner that evening. Instead of her familiar lush forest with tall leafy trees, grassy clearings, and tasty snacks, there were occasional patches of grass and a few sad trees here and there passing beneath her. When she circled around she found that she truly had gone quite far from home, with no signs of the forest's edge on the horizon in any direction. With an annoyed snarl, she flew higher into the skies in order to get a better view of the surrounding wastes and rubble.

The sun was going down soon, and rain clouds were rolling in the distance. A soft, annoyed hiss escaped from her jaws. Flying through rain was most unpleasant, let alone trying to sleep in it. She decided she had to seek shelter elsewhere for the day. Just at the edge of her vision, she saw some kind of large structure, a quick glide into its direction revealed that it was a barn. It looked rather shoddy, but the doors were wide open and the accompanying house looked uninhabited for the most part. Although she wouldn't care if it was inhabited as long as the tenant wouldn't come out with a pitchfork.

She descended down from the air, not-so gently landing herself on the ground. The flapping of her wings produced a terrifying rushing sound of the wind, followed by an audible sound of splintering wood as she had conveniently landed on top of an old wooden storage box. It looked to have been empty anyways- and the surrounding fields were equally as vacant of any sort of life. A lone rat scampered away from her feet, but it was far too small to even be worth chasing. From the ground, the barn looked even sadder. Paint was peeling off of the wood and whatever holes had formed in the ceiling were poorly patched up with a couple of old planks. The damn thing could fall apart at any moment, but shelter was shelter and the droplets already began hitting her nose.

Within the seemingly abandoned house, there was a pointy-eared middle-aged man named Vaelte that nearly knocked over his glass of whisky when the sudden sound of gigantic wings beating was heard directly outside of his home. While he had gotten somewhat used to dragons flying overhead, they rarely ever actually landed on this abandoned farm. He peeked out of the window to see what the ruckus was about, and watched as the brown stalker wyvern vanished into the barn. "Oh fuck.", Vaelte mumbled, "Oh dear gods why is it here?", He questioned no one in particular. He downed the remainder of his glass and began looking around his home for anything that could help in this situation, but his search was interrupted by the sound of something being thrown out of the barn. Running to his front door to open it, he witnessed the horror.

Gecko had discovered a bunch of ugly paintings that she didn't really like to have around while she slept, deeming them weirdly creepy on top of the weird paint smell that came off of them, so she decided to throw them out. It was a surprise to hear the cry of a human from outside the barn, and it was even more surprising to see the human so bravely run to the barn and stand in the doorway, she let out an amused draconian chuckle at the expression on the man’s face..

"You! You creature!", Vaelte shouted, "Out! Out of my barn immediately! Those are priceless paintings you're destroying! What is wrong with you?!", He continued, gesturing wildly in what seemed to be a combination of fury and panic. Gecko did not care, and continued crushing more canvases to make more space for herself. She only reacted when she suddenly felt an unpleasant 'tonk' against their head, and saw that the human had thrown a rock at her. A quick bare-toothed snarl terrified the rude man enough to back down, hopefully forever. After a short little bit, a majority of the canvases were cleared out to produce a nice bedding area for her to stretch herself out in. The barn was surprisingly large and had probably housed dragons in it before, based on the worn tack on the walls and the distinct scratch marks of dragon claws all over the floorboards. In all honesty, this area looked quite nice to live in. It was safe, there was easy shelter from the rain, only one easily frightened human, and surely she could find some source of food around here if she looked around.

Yes, perhaps a change of scenery was due anyways, this would be a perfect spot for a new lair. Unfortunately her thinking was interrupted as she saw the human return to the barn, holding something that smelled very tasty- a couple of fish wrapped in a package maybe? She showed some tentative interest and eyed the possible food.

"So, you're not leaving I suppose, can you just let me get my things out of here before you destroy everything-", Vaelte spoke, promptly being interrupted by a sudden booming snarl that caused him to throw the fish at Gecko and scramble backwards out of the barn. Gecko happily snapped the fish out of the air and shoved a bunch of paintings towards the barn door- regardless of damage done to them. She warily watched the man very carefully tread back into the barn and carefully remove each item she allowed him to take. It was interesting to her how he was willing to be so ballsy with a wild dragon, on top of the fact that the entire area was truly deserted with no other human life anywhere nearby. Clearly he had some reason to be out here on his own. She curled herself up as the rain finally grew from a drizzle to a regular downpour, listening to the man cursing to himself while he moved the paintings from the barn to his home.
