Pumpkin Sniffer

WC: 300/300

Russet happily trotted along the gravel path in some unimportant location. All that mattered to him were the beautiful sights along the sides of the walkway. Gorgeous trees of all different shades of greed, red, orange, yellow, and brown adorned the sky, and occasionally another browbird or satyr would be walking the opposite direction of him. He didn’t bother paying too much mind to them, as all his attention was focused on how visually appealing everything was.

Coming up on his left was some sort of vegetable, though. He was sure he had seen it before, but he wasn’t totally positive if he had. Scurrying over to the round orange thing, he looked over it to see what had been done to it. He picked it up as it was a lot lighter than he thought it to be at first, only to see that the main reason was that it had been hollowed out. Weird. Wait… was there something inside it?

Russet poked his head inside the gourd, looking around to see if there was indeed a shiny inside of it. It was only when he tried to remove his head when he realized his fatal error.

He tugged his head out of the hole again, but to no avail. It was dark and wet and stringy and he was stuck.

Russet stood up on his hind legs, but he had been basically blinded. Only dark pumpkin-y goop was to be seen in front of him. He stumbled around in hopes of finding someone that could help remove this dastardly gourd but he ended up falling backwards into a puddle, the wet mud sticking instantly to his fur.

Maybe this will be a lesson for Russet to not go sticking his face into every pumpkin he sees next time.
