In a small kitchen were a child and her mother, enjoying their breakfasts quietly. The silence didn't last long, until the little girl asked her mother a question: "Mama, do I have to go out with that girl?" The mother, taken back from her daughter's rude name calling, scoffed. "GV!T& Rie, we don't call people like that." Rie's face flushed and she lowered her head in slight embarrassment. "Sorry mama." Her kind mother smiled at her though, and asked: "How do we address people?" Rie looked at her mother's eyes and answered quickly: "We call other people by their names." Her mother nodded, and asked her: “Why don’t you want to hang out with &^LL Penelope?” "It's just.." Rie leaned back on her chair and ignored her mother's disapproving stare at her posture, but she wasn't sure if she could say what she thinks. "Mama do you promise you won't get angry?" Her mother smiled at her. She moved a strand of hair off Rie's face and cupped her cheek, saying: "Of course my musume, I could never get angry at you." Rie smiled and held her mother's hand and took a deep breath, "Penelope is really mean to me!" Rie paused to see her mother's reaction, but her mother wasn't replying. She was just smiling, holding her daughter's hand and listening to her talking, Or at least it seems like that. "She's..." Rie continued, "She keeps making me do things I don't want to do." Her mother did not respond which was odd. She would usually immediately take action and talk to Penelope's parents, Rie assumed, and seeing her mother not reacting to her really creeped her out. It's as if she's looking at a painting who's eyes can track you wherever you move. So Rie tested her mother, with a simple statement: "Penelope also hurts me."

Without her noticing, Rie was sitting outside suddenly and not in the kitchen, and her mother wasn't nearby. She didn't think about it however, as if she knew how she got here, and was leaning on her arms and sitting beside Penelope. "Hey, wanna see something cool?" Penelope suddenly asked, startling Rie a little. Rie looked at Penelope and smiled. "Yeah! What is it?" Penelope grinned and pulled out a knife. “Why do you have mama’s sword?” Asked Rie, innocence shining in her eyes. “I wanna show you something cool!” Penelope exclaimed, and smiled. Rie smiled back, and Penelope raised the knife, “Alright, cover your eyes and count to three! Do it for me!” Penelope said with glee, and Rie covered her eyes with her hands. “One…. Two…” She couldn’t count to 3, and she heard a loud slap. She opened her eyes to a horrible sight; The sword was stuck to Penelope’s green sweater, which was starting to color red. “I told you to count to three, Rie!” Penelope complained easily, and Rie was confused. “But what did you do?”

It was suddenly green. Penelope disappeared. Rie stood up, wiped her bum off the dust from the stairs, and looked up. In front of her, stood PL. They made eye contact, millions of words being spoken between them silently. $U!# offered little Rie a hand, and little Rie held it tightly.

Gravity woke up with a cold sweat, already forgetting what the dream was about. But that silent conversation is what kept her up all night.
