The Night I Can't Sleep
Very short, kind of angsty drabble(?). Aquaries wakes up from a nightmare and has trouble falling back asleep.
Aquaries found himself suddenly thrust awake in a pale sweat, staring at a crack on the ceiling above him. He could feel his heart beating fast, and he wracked his mind trying to recall what it was that had forced him out of slumber. Right. A nightmare. He sighed and rolled over onto his side, pulling his thick blankets tighter around his body. The warmth did little to stop his shaking, and he felt a tear rolling down his cheek. It was embarrassing, honestly, to find himself crying and wrapping himself in blankets like a scared little child.
Trying to take his mind off of his fear and embarrassment, he let his mind wander. Nightmares always made him miss his mother and uncle. They would always rush to his bedside when he cried as a child, brushing their hands through his hair and singing soft lullabies to him. This isn't helping, he thought as he realized that he was starting to quietly cry more. For a moment he considered seeking out Calum and Rosalie for comfort, but this only made him feel flustered, he couldn't possibly ask anything like this from them yet…
After some time, he resigned himself to simply counting in his head until he drifted back into slumber.
