Admissions

The amulet burned in Enigma's hands. He frowned. It felt odd... almost an unpleasant reminder he was different and on this day it felt worse. Was he anxious? He wasnt sure. It had been decided he'd go here to the university. His mind wondered what would happen to him if he failed. It felt overwhelming. His tentacles unfurled from where he hid them under his jacket and moved picking up on his emotions. The runes decorating his skin began to glow. The amulet gave a sharp pain as if it was jolting him back to the moment.
He swallowed his worries and tried to calm his tentacles before he took his first steps forward. Enigma was so out of focus thinking on his worries all he could do was gaze at the tile leading to the university.  His tentacles couldn't control themselves. They thrashed and twisted wanting to go wild. He could run... they'd only be repulsed by him there.
However right as he was about to turn he ran into a young woman. She had a lithe body frame . He jolted back bristling embarrased. His face felt hot and all of his eyes darted away. He didn't want to see another person shirk away. However she didn't. Instead she gently placed a hand on one of his tentacles and smiled.
"You're here for exams? Good luck!" she said. His eyes darted back to her. Her face was pretty and her eyes were a deep pink like gemstones matching her hair. She just smiled back as he stared. She didn't even seem frightened. Something about her was familiar. He opened his mouth to say something the shadows around him moving with his confusion.
"thank you" he muttered. He couldn't escape now. Something in him wanted to go take the test now. He gave a nod his long hair falling more in his face.  She was still smiling at him. It wasnt pity or forced like most. It confused him. He wanted to know more but his eyes fell on the clock. He had to go.  He gave her another nod before turning to dart off into the building towards where the test awaited.

The admission test room wasnt too far and he made it to the room on time. The test administrator gestured him to his seat and he could see they were struggling to even be near him. They appeared to be in pain. He thought of the girl from earlier and sat down. He looked at the paper as it was slid in front of him. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath to calm himself.  He could do this. He could... be here as a person. He wanted to. Oddly enough the answers almost came easily to him once he had decided it.
