Jemimah allowed gravity to overtake her as she fell back into the tall grass of the hill, her arms stretched above her head. Her grin was wide, like the horizon before her.

Ezekiel rolled his eyes at the motion before he sat down beside her, resting an arm on one knee as he took in the view.

The reds and purples of the sunset reminded the girl of her partner's eyes, much like how the day sky reminded him of hers.

She let out a deep breath, releasing with it the remaining tension from her days locked away in her clan home.

"If being free means looking at this kind of sight every day, I'll never regret escaping."

"I know what you mean, just the sight of you can make me smile."

She was in such a good mood that she only gave him a scowl for his near instinctual flirting.

She returned to watching the tinted clouds lazily pass by, her mind slowly emptying of anything that was not peace.

Perhaps influenced by her mood, Ezekiel began to settle down as well, keeping a small space between them as he laid beside her.

They both remained quiet, the only sounds coming from the busy town in the distance, the cries and shouts of his 'big sisters' an ever constant reminder of their work and lives.

For Ezekiel, it was something calming that he was thankful for. It told him that everything was fine and that whichever woman he went to cozy up to next would be ready to pamper both him and themselves after working.

Even after all this time however, Jemimah was unsure just how she felt about the noise. It reminded her of home, of working to the bone for the people who had taken her away from her parents. She no longer grew tense from it, but it was still a struggle to hold back the trained-in instinct to do something, anything, that she must keep moving and furthering herself.

She let out a huff of frustration as she felt her foot move impatiently. She wanted to relax, to just feel the moment, but her own energy and mind betrayed her.

Suddenly, she felt a warmth cover her hand. She looked to see Ezekiel's hand holding hers, his face turned away so she could not see his expression.

She didn't know if the gesture was because of his intuitive nature when it came to women or if it was because it was her, but either way she gently squeezed his hand in thanks and felt her body ease once more, the sounds of the town now calming white noise that paired well with the beat of her heart.
