The Crooks on Omega

Tali grew up going from ship to ship. Her parents would be stationed on one ship for a few months then moved to another for a few months then move again. She never had a stable place to live and she was used to things constantly changing around her. Tali also never had any stable friendships. She might make a good friend two months into her stay on one ship only to be moved to another a week later. She learned to never rely on those around her and that if she wanted something to be done she had to do it. Things around her would be constantly changing and she would be the only one to understand how things should be done. Living on a ship also meant she was almost always alone. Her parents lived where they worked so they were always busy and Tali was lucky to see one of them on her birthday let alone any other time of the year.

The second Tali turned eighteen she left the ship life. She hopped off with her few belongings that she had at the closest station, which happened to be Omega. It was not easy for her in the beginning but after becoming acquaintances with Nyx she was able to get her feet on the ground find a proper place to live and build a name for herself on Omega. Tali would raid shipments and go up against the current gangs on Omega trying to get what she could to make as much money as possible. It’s then where she ended up creating a gang of her own. Tali now does various tasks on Omega that allow her to maintain her power and helps with overseeing basic operations. She’s learned to trust more and knows she can’t be apart of every mission they do, but she can’t help but get a little overworked if something goes wrong and she wasn’t apart of the task.

Tali can be difficult to deal with and can be really stubborn but she’ll liven up, eventually. It takes a lot to get her to trust someone and it can be a bumpy road but once she trusts someone she trusts them with her life. On Omega she does lead a little bit of a double life, using her color changing abilities to her benefit, acting as someone else in the public eye. She’ll be more compassionate and caring in one form and her asshole self in her other form. She tries her best to prevent word from spreading that those two forms are the same person but she knows it’s not the end of the world if word gets out. She just may need to actually start buying her own drinks instead of being all cutesy at a bar.

Corinthus is probably one of the sweetest and nicest people on Omega. In a station known for gangs and criminals, she has a little flower shop right outside the entrance to the apartments section. She planned on owning a flower shop the second she had enough credits but never expected it to be on Omega. With a little help from her father, she was put in contact with Nyx who felt that a flower shop might make living on Omega a little more tolerable and from there it began. She gets customers of all kinds including various gang leaders and even Nyx herself. Corin loves her flower shop very much. It allows her to express her creativity and make beautiful pieces while also getting to know just about everyone on Omega.

While she is overall extremely sweet and cares greatly for everyone, living on Omega has taught her not to take crap from anyone. If someone tries to haggle saying they don’t have enough credits, Corin knows, sure enough, they’ve got plenty of credits. She’s also gotten a few threats but that doesn’t stop her from continuing her shop. She isn’t afraid of putting her foot down and knows that if someone were to hurt her they’d have to worry about Nyx or her father coming after them. Corin rarely doesn’t have a smile on her face and loves being able to brighten up people’s days, even if it's just with a few flowers. Her size also doesn’t bother her much. While it can be a little difficult being small she pushes that aside and makes sure she isn’t treated any differently.

Elaaden has a knack for understanding and processing feelings. She’s very in touch with herself and her feelings but it more has to do with the feelings of those around her. She can read everyone like an open book, even if they are actively trying to hide how they feel. She gets an understanding behind just about everything and it is why she is one of the most visited professionals on Omega. She had started out on various planets, providing her services to those who came to her, but word travels fast about her skills and when groups came visiting from other planets, other systems, other sectors in the galaxy even, she knew it was time to find a permanent place to do her work. She brought her brother along for help and soon enough she was working on Omega full-time. Often those that seek out her services don’t really know what they are looking for and Elaaden is there to help. Sometimes she just offers a conversation, letting her customer express themselves and Elaaden is there to walk them through that. She also offers personal services, which can mean small tasks to larger actions depending on the client. This can also include entertainment. Elaaden often doesn’t have many customers with similar needs or desires but she manages to accommodate everyone that walks through her doors, granted they’re able to pay and are deemed safe by her brother. She’s known for the variety of services she offers but often what really draws customers in is her advice. With understanding feelings and emotions she can be a guide with what to do with them and give her clients an understanding of their actions that can be done and advise them on their paths to take. Elaaden’s work has evolved greatly from when she first started out, but she’s now widely respected across the galaxy and any new customers looking to use her services often have to wait months before they can even look into making an appointment. Elaaden’s job can be pretty stressful with the amount of stuff she needs to do in a day but she wouldn’t trade anything for it.

When Elaaden isn’t working she’s often just chilling in her apartment trying to stay out of the public eye. She does get a lot of attention outside of her job and it leads to her sometimes being confronted about why someone can’t see her for months or she gets a lot of criticism from those who don’t think she has a real job or doesn’t believe what she does really works. She’s really calm about it all and doesn’t let those who question her get to her head. All that matters to her is that she enjoys what she does, she has a brother who is willing to protect her to matter the cost, and a loving girlfriend who accepts what she does and is there to comfort her through just about anything. Elaaden cares a lot about everyone she comes into contact with and puts her soul into her job, hoping that what she does makes an impact in lives and brings some good to the galaxy.

Menae is a very tough gal. She didn’t grow up in the best environments, always switching homes, always in constant danger, and for her, she had to be able to defend herself if she didn’t want to die. Menae developed trust issues, thinking that there was no one out there that would help her and they would only act like they could for personal gain. She was afraid of anything, worried that it would hurt her even if it was just something minuscule. She created a very tough shell that would be impossible to breakthrough. Menae also hid her inner self from just about everyone. Even if she led someone to believe that she thought of them as a close friend Menae would rarely give a lot of personal information to them and almost never reveal anything about her past. She liked to remain more anonymous than not and never wanted to give enough to be identifiable. When she was almost old enough to be considered an adult and drafted into any sort of conflict she fled her home planet. She didn’t have much of a home beside the streets and there wasn't anything keeping her back so the fear of dying for a cause she didn’t believe in persuaded her to stow away on the next ship leaving. She didn’t care where she ended up as long as she wasn’t found and was able to get off at their next stop. The ship happened to head to Omega and that’s where she has been since. Shortly after arriving on Omega, she ran into Elaaden who had just arrived herself. They were both new to the station and afraid so Menae had decided to stick with her. This was a new place where no one knew her past so she felt that it would be easier to trust someone here, even if she didn’t want to. Elaaden introduced Menae to her skills and showed Menae what a future on Omega would look like for her. She decided to stay and become a mercenary, taking any job given to her from those that would pay enough. She went her separate way from Elaaden and made a name for herself. She was well known across Omega and could get just about any job done if paid enough. She was excellent at not getting caught and would keep her mouth shut after the job.

Menae is still very secretive about her life and she doesn’t reveal a lot about herself especially with her job. She is still a loner with no family to turn to. She had run into Elaaden again after a couple of years on Omega and she’s been the only one Menae has learned to trust. Elaaden has opened up Menae quite a bit compared to when she was first on Omega but she’s still very closed off. Menae likes to remain secretive and thinks it better for her clients but she is slowly accepting that it’s not a good way to live and is hoping to change things and be better about it. She’s also really protective of Elaaden and understands that her brother does an amazing job protecting her but can’t help but get a little angry when someone hits on her when they are on a date and does get a little jealous when Elaaden talks about some of the jobs she’s done. But Menae understands what she has to do and knows that Elaaden doesn’t love what she does either.

Kurinth grew up with his younger sister being besties. They were always there for each other and he learned to be dependent on someone else. There was rarely a moment they didn’t share with each other and once she had decided to leave home to work on her own practice he was distraught. That was the first time the two of them had parted and he was not ready to process it. Kurinth was so used to being with her that he broke down. He was a recluse, staying with his parents, doing nothing above the bare minimum in life, and going nowhere. He had been offered help but he was certain his future involved his sister so he had no clue what to do now. He started a simple job at a store and didn’t expect him to go anywhere in life, accepting that he would probably die soon either from doing something wreckless or just not being able to keep going on anymore. Kurinth was depressed, anxious, and overall a wreck.

Kurinth was just leaving his job when he got a message from Elaaden. She rarely visited him let alone messaged him so it was a surprise. She wanted him to work for her as her bodyguard. Kurinth had never said yes to something as fast as he did then. Soon he was meeting her on Omega, ready to bounce back to life and get back into things. As her bodyguard Kurinth can continue to be the overprotective big brother he is, making sure none of her clients even dare consider hurting her. He also keeps the oddballs away from her and does his best to monitor everything happening. He wants to keep her safe and happy, without destroying her business. Elaaden has set boundaries with Kurinth, especially after she started dating Menae, and it has been for the better.

Kurinth has been able to learn to live more on his own and prevent himself from falling back into his old lifestyle if they were to part ways in the future again. He’s happy about life now and is able to enjoy the things he likes. He has even made some friends of his own. He stops by Corin’s flower shop every once in a while to get some roses for himself or some flowers for Elaaden or Menae. Kurinth is also full of love again. He’s very expressive and shares his mind with just about anyone. He can still be a pain in the ass if you try to mess with him, his sister, or her girlfriend and won’t hesitate to take you down, but he isn’t always trying to be intimidating. He wants to be friendly and inviting and only turn if he thinks someone could get hurt as a result of someone else's actions. Kurinth wants to make up for his lost time and spreading love and being open to others is helping with that. It’s allowed him to move on and be better as a result of that.

Miranda did not go to Omega by choice. If she could have it her way she would be anywhere but there. It's slums and free for all nature do not interest her, but it does, however, make her job a little easier. There are less hoops for her to jump through before and after an assignment and there's less in the way of getting things done, but that still doesn't mean she likes it. Miranda is a freelancer, getting hired to do about any job imaginable. When she first started, she was jumping from planet to planet, taking anything given to her. As time went on she got better and better at the tasks, keeping what she does out of the public eye and being able to do things faster and more efficiently. It had gotten to a point where she had the ability to pick and choose her jobs, taking the ones that sounded the most interesting or were the highest paying instead of taking anything she could get. A couple years into the job she considered retiring, taking a step back as it did take a toll on her conscious. She had more than enough to not worry about a job in the future and to live a peaceful, quiet life. Miranda was about to put it all behind her when she had gotten an offer that peaked her interest. It was a job on Omega, nothing too difficult she would just need to acquire some intel on someone. Omega had been one of the few places she considered off limits because of what she had heard about the place, but this offer was so high she figured there was no harm in visiting once for something so simple. She got the job done, no issues and was about to head off of Omega to do a different job when the anonymous client has offered her double the credits for an even simpler job. Miranda took it, no questions asked, and extended her stay on Omega. She was doing task after task on Omega and word had gotten around the station at how good she was. She had been approached by many others seeking her service and had even gained protection from Kadara on more than one occasion. Miranda never took jobs from anyone else as her anonymous client was paying her well. She now resides on Omega, taking jobs when he's got something for her. She has never really been too sure what meaning her jobs have to him and he requests some of the stuff he does but as long as he is paying her well she isn't going to complain.
Miranda has contacts across the galaxy and easily gets what she needs. She isn't afraid to show that she's better than someone else. She can be very sarcastic, bossy and when she's working on a job she won't allow distractions. If something in her way needs to disappear it will be gone sooner rather than later. Miranda knows that her work might be doing harm to others and she tries not to think much of it but rationalizes that if she doesn't do it someone else will and there might be more casualties as a result. Miranda often doesn't let anyone close to her. To just about everyone she's a cold and snarky bitch and she likes to keep it that way. She prefers to do things herself and rarely gets outside help on jobs. When she does get help its from one or two contacts she trusts and rarely anyone else. If someone manages to wiggle their way past Miranda's various barriers they're met with someone who's overworked, a little broken on the inside and looking forward to just relaxing at the end of the day. Miranda hopes that at the end of all of this there is hope. A world where she doesn't need to be someone else to everyone but herself and a place where she can really open up and express how she feels. For now she just pushes it aside and puts her focus in the job at hand.
