Musings of Greed

Avarice watched in sick amusement as the transformation into gold continued. Of course, this person was begging and pleading. They usually did when they weren’t trying desperately to reverse it. Oh, if only they knew how futile it was.

It just made watching the process all that much sweeter.

He observed underneath his golden skull, mouth twisted into a grin as the target continued to writhe against the inevitable. Their arm was already gone. Their shoulder was, too. As soon as it spread across the torso, it would be much less fun.

“Please, stop!”

“That will do you no good.”
