Chapter 2
The figure moved closer and closer, soon taking the shape of a wolf. The beast then stopped, orange optics landing on the boy. Time seemed to have frozen in place. He could feel the pounding of blood through his veins, his heart feeling like it was going to pop. Every cell in his body told him to run, but he was completely frozen. And, in an instance, the wolf lunged at him with a piercing growl; teeth bared and ready to bite.
On instinct, he looked away, squeezing his eyes shut, bracing for the oncoming pain of the wolf's blade-like incisors; ripping through his thin skin, tearing him apart. And when the pain never came, he glances up; only to be met with the wolf, inches away from his face, frozen mid-air. He immediately falls backwards, letting out a small screech. His heart was pounding out his chest.
