Explorers upon a new world - Quests 1-5

Grimdark was fairly new to the region of Meris. He was from a region that was mostly full of dark types and the like. He wasn’t sure what to expect from this new region… in fact, he was sure that he would get lost somehow. But hey, it sure beat being stuck out in the wilderness with soul-eating pokemon. He was lucky to be part grim reaper, it was probably the only thing that kept him alive there. Stepping out of the plane, he sighed.

To put it lightly. He was terrified. He had gone here to get a starter pokemon, and then maybe later on return back to his home. But surely it wouldn’t hurt to stick around for a while? He tapped his chin for a moment, thinking before he snapped out of his thoughts. A professor had come to talk to guide him to their lab. Grimdark didn’t talk to them much, but did thank them for helping them get over to the lab.

Once at the lab, he noticed a few other trainers getting their first starter too, There was a alien cat with a Geckrawr biting their hand. An odd void being with a seemingly wolf-like appearance and their geckrawr with a scarf around it’s tail. A weird microscopic creature with a damsegon much bigger than theirselves. Grimdark didn’t see any fondness for any of them… until he noticed a pair of grey-scale Kyakorak being fed berries by a professor. Grimdark approached, looking between the two. The Kyakoraks didn’t seem to acknowledge him, and rather focus on snapping at the berries.

“What are these two?” Grimdark asked, eyeing the one that had a grey belly and a mostly white back. 

“Oh these are Kyakorak!” They’re the water type starter of the Meris region. We’re currently studying these two orphans, but you’re free to take one of them if you want! They’re quite reliable.”
“Hm… Yeah. I’ll take this one.” he said, picking one up. “I’ll name it Ghost, anything else i need to do before I head out?” he asked, looking into the Kyakorak’s eyes for a moment before looking at the professor.
“Oh no nothing really. Just gotta print out a trainer ID, then give you a pokedex. What’s your name sir?”
“Grimdark, at your service.” he nodded respectfully, petting the Kyakorak for a minute as the professor set everything up.

“All right. You’re all set up Grimdark. Here’s the Kyakorak’s pokeball, your pokedex, and your ID. Try not to lose any of them, especially your pokeball. We’ve been having alot of problems about that recently.”

“I will do my best professor. Have a good evening.” he says, returning Ghost to his pokeball and then starting to head out. As he reached the door, he looked back at the others. What an odd crew… He had never seen anything like them, then again all he knew were plague doctors and reapers…

Best not to dwell, he pushed the door open and stepped out into the world.
