The two young wolves headed out together into the forest under the guise of finding medicinal herbs for the pack, and in the hopes of doing a bit of sightseeing in the further reaches of the pack's territory. Over logs and streams, they travelled further and further until they found themselves in a small glen between the rolling hills of the woods.

"Do you think there's any use for fish scales in medicine?" Pine asked, looking down into the river where fish seemed abundant. Their shiny scales glimmered in the light as the alpha-to-be watched them swim along, arctic grayling were in abundance here it seemed.

"Almost," Marshal began, having been watching his mate's enthusiasm towards the fish here with an elation of his own. "Fish skin can be used to treat burns when they're bad enough, it works a bit better than the moss bandages."

"Really?" Pine asked excitedly, "maybe I'll be more use to your healing than I thought."

"You've been helpful," Marshal laughed as he nudged at the pouches of herbs hanging from Pine's antlers that his mate was carrying for him, sending them swinging and swaying. "But, if we go a bit further we should be able to get to the glacier lakes to get some Larkspur to help with the fleas the pups keep getting."

"They'll be grateful for that," Pine replied, doing a bit of sightseeing of his own as he watched his mate carefully pick some of the light green mosses from the forest floor. "Do you think we might be able to get some fishing in while we're there? I'm certain there have to be muskies in there, big ones too!"

"Of course we can, it's still early!" Marshal laughed, looking forward to seeing his mate try to wrestle in a muskellunge, err, muskie. He didn't see many of them in his homeland, but Pine seemed to have a fascination with catching one. They had a good day ahead of them, one certain to be filled with lots of adventure for them both.
