Morgan's paws hit the tiled floor in quick succession as she held the pile of books close to her chest. Theories of the origin of magic, list of ghost types, and how to explore new places: urban edition barely stayed in her grips as she ran between bookshelves, hearing the footsteps behind catching up close.

She knew you had to check out books, you needed a card to do so. However, you needed an adult to get one for you. Her nose always wrinkled up at the thought of asking one of the caretakers at the orphanage because she knew the answer was always no. No, why would you need a library card? We have plenty of books here to read donated to us. Every time she heard that reason she always had to stop from rolling her eyes. "Yes I know already, but I want books about the pair-e-normal."

Now running away as the sounds of a very irritated and probably underpaid librarian came stomping after her, Morgan began to doubt if this was a good idea. Maybe the books she had were enough. Before she could consider maybe turning around and apologize, she was already out the door.

Just for one day. She would return them tomorrow, hopefully before anyone could recognize her.
