Angelo and Diablo - Backstory
Angelo (born Adrian Wells) and Diablo (born Damien Wells) were born three minutes apart in California, USA. They are identical twins, physically identical in almost every regard. They were born as the only children to incredibly spiritually inclined parents, who raised them on a spiritual and vegan lifestyle. At a very young age, the twins talked about getting married one day - which to their parents, was a clear indicator that they were lovers in a previous life that were destined to be together again.
Their parents forced this idea into their heads as they aged - constantly "making jokes" about their wedding, any kids they have, etc. In fact, they tried to shield the twins away from the idea that incest is bad, to not discourage them from exploring each other. They were given plenty of room as they hit puberty to explore one another under the pretence of "pure love", which is exactly what they did. In front of others, they just appeared to be extremely close twins - dressing the same, having the same hairstyles, etc. However, Damien grew to have a crush on a girl in their class and confided in Adrian, believing that he couldn't tell his parents who would never accept it. Adrian pretended to be understanding, but in turn, pretending to be Damien, broke the girl's heart. For a few years, it made Damien believe that he truly was destined to be with Adrien, until they were sixteen.
They hit a massive turning point at the age of sixteen - Adrian tried to convince Damien to lose their virginities together. Damien never truly shook the idea that this was wrong, and eventually managed to run away from home before Adrian could convince him. At this point, he started wearing contacts, dyed his hair and wore raunchy clothing, pushing himself as far away from the "innocent twin" he'd always felt he had been. He started calling himself Diablo online, and quickly grew a following after he turned 18 due to his sex appeal.
Adrian stayed living with his parents until he moved away from college, at which point he went through a dramatic change too - dying his hair and getting several piercings. He attempted to catfish Diablo under a fake name after tracking him down, but Diablo very quickly realised what was going on and skipped town. From that point on, Adrian focused on the one romance he can control - the written kind. He published his debut novel "Twin Flames" under the penname 'Angelo' and saw overnight success. He continues to write romance novels, based entirely on what he believes he will have with Diablo, "once the poor sod comes to his senses".
