Prologue

A cliff stood on the edge of the forest, behind this cliff was the mountain area. Pointing to the starry sky, like a cat staring at the moon.

There was a small pool below the cliff, covered with footprints left by cats from past generations and far before, the surface of water was as calm as a mirror. The stars in the sky reflected on the surface of the pool, making the surroundings shine brightly.

A transparent white cat shining with stars seated by the pool. She stared at the calm water, motionless, like a statue.

The grass behind her swinging, splitting them in two. Another cat with starlight came out, but the white cat didn't even twitch a single whisker.

“I’m ready.” mewed the new joining cat after she took a deep breath. The white cat didn’t respond, only flicked her pure white tail, telling the other to go beyond.

She sat by the white cat, the silver stripes clinged to her body rose and fell each time with her breath, like numbers of fish bouncing beneath.

“Has Silverheart gone?” She blinked the pair of stunning beautiful pale purple eyes, asking. The white cat nodded slightly, this is a solemn ceremony, so she wished there’s no more conversation than it needs.

“Did she see it then? Her future destiny.” The silver she-cat kept asking.

“She said she doesn’t want to.” The white cat gently, lashing her tail in front of the other.

A breeze came by, their fur swung as it blew.

“It’s time! Look!” The white cat hurried.

The tabby she-cat blinked confusedly, then dipped down, staring at the quiet water.

A drip of water fell to the ground after leaving the rock walls above, causing ripple forming, with vision showing, slowly. The she-cat focused on the vision on the water, then eyes wide-opened, shaking violently, mumbling words that couldn’t be heard. The white cat rest her tail on the she-cat’s shoulder, trying to confront her.

After a while, the water slowly quiet down, then remain silent, the she-cat lifted up her head, eyes telling only fear.

“What did you see?” The white cat asked, showing only worry in her different-colored eyes.

“I saw… Me and Silverheart’s future.” The she-cat shivering, eyes un certain. “I… I want to change with Silverheart!” Then she stood up all of sudden, looking so clear for the first time since she arrived.

The white cat watched her, trying to hide her shock, then dipping down, drowning in her own thoughts. “It can work, but Silverheart’s chosen it.” The white cat tried to find the tiniest bit of uncertainty in the she-cat’s eyes.

“There’s no need of suffering for you, are you sure about that?” asked the white cat.

“I am.” She answered stubbornly

“Have you forgotten what Silverheart did? How she abandoned you, leaving you with that filthy creature?” The fur around the white-cat’s neck stood, aggressiver than their owner. But even the burning anger in that pair of eyes couldn’t burn down the idea of the silver tabby.

“You knew what's really happened.”

The white-cat knew there’s no point to argue, no a chance that the she-cat would change her mind. She tried her best to flat down her hair, sighing.

“Fine! But you must remember, once it’s settled, there’s no turning back.” She gazed up in the star night. “And it’s not just about you but everyone’s fate. . . At this very moment, you’ve led your future to a new, uncertain path.” The white cat lash out her tail, telling her to come forward.

“Of course.” She walked forward, feeling the white cat’s muzzle rest against her forehead.

“Thank you.” She let her world go black and disappear, letting the power slip away from her body. The very last memories that appeared in her mind were all about her fellow partners, which brought out a smile on her face.

Silverheart. . . Her body faded away slowly, then disappeared, along with her memories and her mind.

When her scent had been brought away by the breeze completed, a squeaking crying echoed in the green leaf warm forest.

“Welcome, little thing.” The white cat mumbling to herself.

“You got a long path to walk, enjoy yourself, for now. . .”
