Heart of the Glacier
Deep in the bitter cold forests of the village of ice lies a glacier, large as a mountain and as immovable. Though the glacier is of the same element as the village it borders, the Matoran avoid it. Cold, green light flashes within the heart of the glacier, and most Matoran who see it quickly hurry away. At night or during the day, it may flash once, or rarely, the light will pulse several times in a row. A Ga-Matoran might say the light reflects from the stars and northern auroras, while a Po-Matoran would claim it’s only the sunlight, changed by the ice. But the Ko-Matoran know the light is from the heart of their great brother, Kylmaha, Toa of Ice. His heartlight blinks on once or twice a day, never constant, but always a reminder of the hidden Toa, waiting in the glacier for when he is needed.
