Interview with an Interloper

you sit in the dried riverbed and remember what could have been before. the water here is gone, gone, driven deep beneath the earth after the earth became different. starwort is like that. ever changing, ever shifting, and never resting.

a static starts up in your ears. a glance at the sky tells you its probably about time. there's nothing you can do but listen when the station finds your signal, so you lay flat in the dry bed, gripping silt in your fingertips and wishing something was different.

you don't really remember what should be different.

"welcome to the latest Interview with an Interloper! as always, remember that this show is all in good fun; after all, who doesn't interfere with their own story? there's lots to learn here amongst the trees! I'm your host Everest, and I'll be treating you to quite the juicy tidbit today!"

a typical intro. there's nothing interesting there. you're just about to begin daydreaming when the next words rip a hole straight through you.

"now, alluin. do you have anything to tell the audience?"
