Dovelight blinked at the early morning dew on the leaves outside of the  nursery, laid down beside her was Eveningwisker, her lovely mate.  Dovelight struggled to sit up but did so successfully, it was difficult  when this pregnant… either way she was ready to enjoy a day inside her  little group. Little did she know today would be the day she could no  longer live here…

The queen carefully stretched her legs and  made her way outside the den, watching as hunters gathered to go on the  next hunting patrol, guards walking around the edge of camp. Everything  was at ease, everything was peaceful. It always was. Her eyes gently  shifted to a green before she made them turn back to pink. She kept her  powers a secret. A bit afraid to be outcasted for it. Either way.

She  walked around camp and laid down in the sunniest patch she could find,  closing her eyes and rolling onto her side, enjoying the sun’s warmth,  she was tired. Tired of lugging around who knows how many kits. She  wanted this though, and Eveningwhisker had agreed, her brother being the  donor for a close genetic matchup… her eyes fluttered shut as she  enjoyed the simple life of being a Queen.

That was until a  screech pirced the gentle silence, making Dovelight scramble to her  paws, turning to the direction she head it she saw a large wolf, others  beside it. Her eyes turned pitch black form fear, seeing her mate’s body  picked up and shaken around by a wolf. Tears pricked her eyes but she  simply had no time to waste, so she started running, and a wolf gave  chase, of course it would. She’s a pregnant cat, what kind of wolf  wouldn’t go for the easier prey? Slower and definitely more of a meal.

She  ran faster and faster, perhaps that wasn’t the best idea. The wolf  caught up and tore into her hind leg, making her bleed immensely.  Dovelight kept on running, the wolf still giving chase. She darted  through trees to try and disorient the canine, and what luck… it didn’t  lose track of her thanks to the blood dripping from her leg.

Soon  Dovelight had run out of tree cover, she wasn’t even sure how far she  had been running for… hours maybe, and quickly she darted under a  strange purple Crystal giving her enough cover to cower under. The wolf  scratched and pawed at the area she was in, growling hungrily before it  gave up. Dovelight shook with exhaustion and fear, her eyes still a deep  black color. She noticed the stars through the somewhat clear crystal,  making her sigh shakily.

How far had she ran from home? She  wasn’t sure, but she managed to get away… she looked down to her leg and  winced, surely that wouldn’t let her live long… she needed help now…  but how would she get it? So far from home, and nowhere familiar… she  couldn’t get help. She had to die with a whimper, and in turn so would  her kits.

Dovelight’s eyes turned an indigo color as she thought  about it, no way to keep her mate’s legacy, no way to live, no way to  survive. She whimpered and let tears soak her fur. She had list all hope  of living that is until… a certain Calico showed her fluffy face.

Willowpaw.  At the time. Now known as Willowbite. Had found the trembling Queen.  Willowpaw huffed and dropped the mouse in her jaw nudging it over to the  injured Queen. “Now what’s up with you? Second injured molly in our  territory now… what happened to you?” She asked bluntly, green eyed  sharply pointed at the Queen in front of her.

Dovelight shifted  uncomfortably, slightly surprised at the apprentice's blunt nature and  tone. She took a breath in and out and then spoke eyes at the ground as  they shifted to orange. “Wolves… mindless creatures… I was in my camp  and next minute… they had attacked leaving a bloody trail where they  went. It was horrible. So many cats… dead or injured.” She shuddered,  and looked at her wound, showing it to the apprentice. “One of em got to  me…”

Willowpaw’s eyes widened at the sight and flicked her tail.  “Good god. Okay you’re coming with me.” She huffed moving forward to  help the queen up, helping Dovelight stand, albeit with shaking legs  from the Queen, still all tired from that running. “Come on, we have a  medicine cat back at Reverieclan camp. I know you won’t last very long  out here without help.” She huffed and started helping the Queen get  back.

Dovelight shifted but walked along with the apprentice.  “Will we be safe there?” She asked the apprentices as the walked into a  dark forest, fireflies littered the air softly blinking in the dark  wooded area. Dovelight could see them flickering about and it was  awfully calming. Her eyes shifted to pink to represent her calmer mood.

Willowpaw  huffed and rolled her eyes like it should be obvious. “Yes of course it  is.” She growled and moved a bit faster and made Dovelight m match the  rhythm. “Stop asking questions.” Willowpaw glared and kept walking.

The  two walked in silence as the entered the camp. And what Dovelight  noticed was the lack of numbers. She could see an injured molly settling  down into a root covered den, with a white and black molly beside her,  and then a white and blue grey tom with a black star on his head. He  gave off leadership vibes almost instantly as Dovelight had seen him.

Reveriestar  jumped from his perch on the mushroom in front of his hollow tree den  and approached the two. He flicked his tail, looking between Dovelight  and Willowpaw. He hummed thoughtfully before speaking. “Hello, I’m  Reveriestar, welcome to Reverieclan. I see you might need some help.  Head over to the medicine cat den you’ll be taken care of there.” He  then glared at Willowpaw gently and flicked his tail and nudged her to  talk to him privately.

Dovelight took a cautious step forward and  walked her way over to the den roofed by tree roots, a calm feeling  filled her body and she couldn’t understand why. “Hello? Uhm… I’m new  here and I… I need some assistance.” She whispered gently before seeing a  pair of violet eyes face her.

Wispsky smiled and led the Queen  to a moss nest to lay down on, and she started applying marigold and  goldenrod to the large gash before pressing cobwebs onto it. “Tell me,  what happened to you? You might have already  told this a few times but  I’m curious.” She looked at the slightly lilac furred queen.

“My  camp was attacked by wolves, I barely made it out alive…” Dovelight  shuddered again at the thought, her eyes drifting to her round belly,  which Wispsky was gently touching. Dovelight looked up and smiled at her  gently. “Thank you so much… I hope I’m not much of a bother for you…”

Wispsky  gave a closed eye smile. “Not at all, in fact you could tell me all  about it. I’d love to listen to whatever you have to say. Oh I should  mention you can stay here for as long as you’d like. You could even join  us like Rippleflame has.” She gestures to the other Molly in the den  who was sleeping peacefully.

Dovelight looked over at Rippleflame  and then to Wispsky with a smile, eyes shifting to green. “Thank you so  very much… I’m sure I have nowhere to return to anymore… my mate was  killed and my home was destroyed by those beasts.” She put a paw to her  belly lovingly. “This is all I have left of her… I’d love to stay here  and raise them here if you wouldn’t mind?”

Wispsky laughed gently  lifting a paw to her mouth. “Of course, I already said you could. Oh!  What’s your name? That’s so silly of me not asking your name, what is  it?” Wispsky tilted her head and nudged the Queen with her paw carefully  making a small joke.

Dovelight smiled. “Dovelight. Dovelight of  the now fallen Featherclan.” Her eyes flickered to blue thinking about  Featherclan’s lovely scent. She enjoyed the mystical scent of  Reverieclan of course but… it wasn’t the same for her. She kid her head  down, allowing the gentle presence calm her to sleep. “Thank you so  much.”

“Of course…” Wispsky muttered happily watching the queen drift to sleep in gentle Harmony.
