"How much is a life worth to you?"

All that was responded with was a slight chuckle.

~~~~~~~
A man stepped out of his car, the cool night air feeling refreshing after his long day. His wife had said she'd be at her family's place for the weekend, so he had all the time in the world. He walked up his driveway, humming to himself. Tomorrow would be a good day, a few women, a few drinks...
As he walked into his home, he didn't notice anything different. He didn't even notice as he walked down the hall, heading to his kitchen. It was a nice kitchen, a large one, much like the rest of the house. He opened his fridge, reaching for a bottle of some sort of liquid.
And then he noticed the large man standing behind him, as he had arms wrap around his throat from behind. He kicked his legs a few times before swinging the bottle backwards, missing his captor. He kept kicking, squirming, he wasn't going to just get grabbed by a stranger.
The man who had him spoke, a deep, unsettling voice, "Stop."
But he didn't stop, and his constant shifting weight finally caused the intruder to stumble just enough backwards to step in the puddle that formed from the thrown drink.
Then, he slipped.
~~~~~~~

The Rabbit heaved as he laid there on the kitchen floor, the smell of alcohol blended with blood. The man stood above him, gun in hand and aimed right down at the man on his back. It hurts, his chest burns from his breathing and from the few bullets that landed. His cloth mask, a simple one with a kitty mouth on it, was cast aside and bloody. He'd lost it in the scuffle and he hated that. He couldn't tell how much of the blood on his target was his own and how much was the target's.

The target spoke, "Did you really fucking think you could steal from me? You fucking idiot, I'm Michael N-"

"Norris," the rabbit choked out, "Kelly hired-"

Michael kicked him in the side, cutting him off, "Shut up, shut up, I don't know why you think-" he stopped as the sound of a door opening caught him off guard. Both men turned towards the sound, the rabbit winced as he turned his head.

Standing in the hallway was a lady, a pretty one. She wore a smile and a suit as she spoke, "Oh my, a bad time?"

"Who the FUCK are-" a shot rang out and Michael collapsed to the side of the rabbit, his blood being added to the mess.

The rabbit blinked as he stared at the woman, who had pulled a gun before even introducing herself, he choked, "Shit..."

She laughed and waved her hand, "Don't worry, I'm not here to kill you. I was actually coming to hire you, but I see that you got a bit...unlucky while I was waiting. I was going to do this cool entrance after you killed your target, but then you slipped and well...things got a bit out of hand. I wasn't sure about stepping in but I could tell if I waited..." She gestured towards the gun in the dead man's hand, "Plus, I can't exactly wait too long, you might faint."

He blinked a few more times as she walked up to him and crouched, letting her continue to speak, "You're good at killing, my friend. I know a perfect place for you to work at, we'll get you patched up. Get you a better mask, hell I'll even make sure no one else in the organization knows what you look like unless you let them. All you have to do is say-"

"O...kay..." He grabbed her arm, shaking.

"Welcome to the family, Clementine." She smiled.

He opened his mouth to tell her he didn't know who that was, but before he could get out more than a, "Who-", everything went black.

~~~~~~
He opened his eyes and turned his head to the side. This was a nice room, a nice bed. He took a shaky breath and sat up, wincing at the sharp pain that went through him. A note sat on his lap. He picked it up and read it.
Thanks for accepting the offer, Clementine. It would've been a shame to leave you on that floor. We'll assign you a handler soon, but for now it'll just be me coming in to check on you! Before you ask, you're Clementine now. We have a theme, and you needed an actual name anyways! Ciao!
Clementine shook his head a bit and looked around. A mask sat on a nearby dresser, it was pink. A rabbit.
He smiled and gave a light chuckle.
