Ji didn't see, but the noise is enough to send him into a panic again- his hands impulsively clasping his chair ready to flee. He's shaking too much to do anything really- so thankfully doesn't actually move, but he's also too out of it to try and support Ollie... Ouch.

Ollie... Can't help but watch. They seem way too still, muscles rigid as they see the fire, the spikes, the scars on Mayu's face. That could have been any one of them, had they decided to kill. Their face is pale behind the mask as they take a step back from Ji, tripping over the air and falling. They don't want to abandon Ji. They want to run, to get away from everything, but they're not going to leave Ji behind.They don't want to be useless. "I..." The words die as they hit the air, falling and crashing like glass as Ollie tries to force the words that fail to come. The static in their head spins into firey patterns, fracturing into sharpened points that hurt to see and think about but that they can almost hear.They didn't deserve to die like that.

There's not much Ji can do from his chair to help Ollie, and that makes the awful feeling inside even more painful as he almost nonchalantly glances at them at first- he stalls, breath catching as he tries to force himself to calm down. When he can't do anything but reach out that's.. What he does. He wants to ask them to sit up and... what? Hug him? That's selfish. so he can help them as he rolls forward very slightly to get close enough to help them up, but without being able to say so verbally he hopes the offered hand will work.

Prairie choked, gasping for air as tears and snot clogged her nose and burned her throat. She wiped the back of her hands over her eyes but new tears replaced the old ones in seconds. Her hands were wet, her cheeks were wet, her clothes were wet, at the very least, she knew was hydrated. Prairie whimpered and let her head fall into her arms and over her hugged knees. Her shoulders and legs shook. She clutched at her hair and yelled very, very quietly. Her hair bounced back, and she sprung with it to her feet. The reality of the situation was kicking in. Prairie shifted her weight to either leg and knew what she had to do. She glanced around and didn't spot Valerie, but didn't question it. She readied herself, rumbling like a car, and whistled loudly. Bam! She's off, running at a remarkably fast and agile speed out of the trial room. She doesn't stop, even once she's in the elevator she just... fucking runs in circles like a dog chasing its tail. Nyoooomm.

Ollie is barely looking at Ji for the time being, tears burning the corners of their eyes as they choke out breath after painful breath. They can almost feel the acrid smoke of the pins in their lungs, wrapping around them and choking them from the inside out. Their knuckles are white, closed fists against the floor of the room as they struggle to process what just happened. "I- So-sorry-" [ It's my fault they're dead if I'd just been nicer if I'd just been there to help if I'd been lessuselessthey'd still be here and their friend wouldn't be so hurt and everything would be okay ] They can't think straight, or at all. Ollie's mind whirls with fire and smoke that shows no sign of abating, toxic fumes filling hollow lungs.

They're both struggling, obviously, there's not much Ji can do here- but eventually he wriggles forward to make space behind himself to set Cake in his chair; then pushing himself onto the floor to land on his knees with a dull thud. Can't hurt if he can't feel it, hey?
Unsure if Ollie would react poorly to being touched right now, he merely pushes himself a bit nearer still and sits by them. Floor:)

Ollie is mostly staring straight forward, eyes locked on some invisible point of interest that they can't see, that no one can see, the echoes of screams and jeers and crowds booing ricocheting through their brain. They do notice that Ji is there, don't worry, but they can't find the energy or the willpower to break through the haze that their mind has created.
Hide away, in that dingy old apartment, avoiding your crimes with smoke and coffee. The bitterness drags you through the waves despite your coughing and choking and pleading for escape from the salty air and tears and water that flows through your veins. Your crimes are small in the grand scheme of things, but a single brick in the wall can grow to hundreds, damming a river miles wide before you know it. Do you remember how you felt back then?

He's officially got no idea what to do. Ji-hyo tried to tell himself this wasn't work, he should just be able to comfort a friend like a normal person, but it wasn't happening. Sniffling, Ji wraps his arms around Ollie as much as he can manage, leaning back on them for his own comfort as much as it's mean to be to reassure them. They had fun when they were singing, right? Ji doesn't exactly have the energy to sing right now, but he begins very very quietly mumbling through the lyrics to some kind of song in Korean. It always calmed his siblings down when they were sad, so... Time to try and cool off.

They cling tightly to Ji-hyo, sobbing quietly into his shoulder despite their trying to act strong. They've always been the strong one. Whether it was running into a power plant to save their already-dead father, to comforting their mother at the age of five, they've always been the tough one. It's their job to be strong, right? "I- Thank yo-ou." The words are choked out through the ragged breaths between sobs, Ollie trying to take deep breaths through the respirator over their face and the binder around their chest. "Thank you s-so much. You're re-ally sweet."

Ji-hyo keeps shushing and mumbling through the lyrics as he pats at them softly. "Don't gotta thank me," He responds, switching back to... English? Probably? Vague noises of confusion. He returns to shushing at them between pauses of the sing he's half singing half mumbling still on loop. "You've been here fer me way more than ya needed to; so yer stuck with me now, yknow? Don't gotta thank me fer being where I wanna be.." Back to shushing and humming away. What he says doesn't make the most sense, but hopefully the sentiment is conveyed well enough.

They sniffle, reaching up and rubbing at their face for a moment before speaking again. "Need help getting to your chair? We... We probably need to get out of here."

"Ehe.. Think I can like.. Idk, sleep on the floor or something..?" He shouldn't be considering this. "M' quiet... Cake is trained enough to stay on the chair.." And yet here he is, sounding all hopeful. "Donno if i'll fit in the closet tho-" And now he's giggling, sad but amused. Sigh. "Umm... I didn't think about getting back in the chair.." Oops.... "Don't wanna be a pain 'bout you having to help, I could probably work it out-"

Ji shuffles, already somewhat flustered in embarrassment that he needs the help to begin with. "M' not.. Gonna be able to do anythin til my feet're flat on the floor-" He feels so guilty. They help Ji up to the best of their ability, making sure that he's safely to the chair before straightening up and relaxing a little bit. Ollie's definitely not vibing, but... Well, they're not having a complete breakdown. We're saving that for later, you know? They sigh, looking away for a moment before speaking. "I.. I feel bad that I couldn't.. That i literally pu-unched them when they were...." They cover their face with their hands, a sigh escaping them. "I shouldn't have attacked them..."

S'only natural to get upset.. I don't like. Like. Fighting. S'my bad for gettin all worked up n' yelling.." He smiles a little- and it's somewhat forced, but only because he's the one determined to be positive despite his mind only wanting to go and mope. "S'never worth worrying about what we've already done, I think.. Jus' today with helpin me out you've made it more th'n clear you're not just like.. All punchy... Yknow?" He's not as good at this as usual. "Wanna go back to the rooms..?"

They nod at the question about their dorm being okay, following Ji over to the elevator. Two clingy fucks, what will they do! Ollie's a bit more okay now that they know Ji's not angry, but... Well.
