Bugwhisper kinda hates Blossompool

This probably plays into why Bugwhisper doesn’t really like Blossompool all that much. Because although he was able to branch out and stop being in his mother’s shadow, he almost feels replaced by having her mentor Blossom and how she wasn’t all that hesitant to kick him out for the time being to train some cat they both don’t know. 

But over time when he falls in love with the Scorch cats and territory. It burns him knowing how hard it was for Fernpool to send her only surviving son over to some clan to become a medicine cat. As time goes on, and the feeling that Blossompool isn’t intending on leaving. He ended up having his warrior ceremony in the Colony (but Fernpool was welcomed to view it under supervision.) but after that, she was expected him to come home and complete his training back in Scorch. But nope, Mothwhisper had more to show him, and Blossompool felt like he had to stay in the colony a bit longer.

So not too long after when the medicine cats do that meeting thing, it’s just weird tension going on between Bug and the two colony medicine cats. So he snaps one day and asks when Blossompool is actually going to be his apprentice to show him the rest, but his mother went ahead and did everything that Bug was supposed to do. And Blossompool admited that he had a vision of him being the Colony medicine cat (or that’s how he interpreted it). And Bug basically reprimands him for lying to his own mother who just wants her son to come home. As kinda lying to Alderstar in thr process.

So Blossompool goes to his mother and basically explains that he’s staying in the colony with Mothwhisper. Fernpool is naturally very very upset but respects his decision. Alderstar is pretty irritated, but Bugwhisper says that he home is with the Scorched cats and asks if he can remain their medicine cat forever. Naturally Alderfoot is cool with this (hell yeah free healthcare). Other Scorch cats see Blossompool as somewhat of a traitor, but they’d never publicly speak poorly of a healer.

Mistypelt and Grassfeather aren’t too concerned with this situation because they weren’t crazy about Bugwhisper’s antics and they think Blossompool is a good kid, and praise him for following the prophecy by having to make a tough decision. Bugwhisper doesn’t hate Blossompool now, but he tolerates him when they have to be together.

TLDR; Scorch had no medicine cat, so they sent Blossomkit over to the Colony Cats to train under Mothwhisper. Due to her being selfish and refusing to go over to the Scorch territory, and insisting that her son isnt ready to train a medicine cat, she sent Bugwhisper over to Scorch Clan to be there temporary healer while she trained Blossompaw. But over time it was obvious that Blossom wouldn‘t be returning home, and Bug liked Scorch Clan more. So they stayed where they were.
