When looking towards how they have gotten here, it seems strange for Mojavetalon. At least in the change and the growth that they have experienced over their life. To have the Coati and the Mountain Lion come, and then Batwing to go missing. Mojave was terrified that something was coming after the clan. For Gracklestar’s betrayal and the death of Falconwatcher. She stuck close to her family and friends those days. However, she began to think if she was being too clingy. Too afraid to face her fears, watching those she cares about flit and work hard. So, she tried to push herself into looking after Petalwish’s kits. Playing with Windkit, looking after Quartzkit while his parents are out. Aster and Silver playing about and having fun.

Which is what prevented Mojave from going to the Gathering, even if it was in a space they knew. The fears of getting lost, being alone, not being able to get back. So, she stayed in the clan, chatting with those who remained. Even catching up with their father, Valerianwhisper as they awaited news of what happened. Telling him about how the kits she was looking after were soon going to be apprentices. And when that day rolled around, she felt that familiar sway of pride and terror. Something she couldn’t distract herself from, now that the queen’s den was pretty empty.

When more of her free time opened up, she spent time chatting with Lilyskip, Quietrain, Daturashade. It was wonderful to connect with other people, and they helped them move further and further. Even if she had to run to Adderheart for herbs to help with the oncoming panic attacks. She still feels terrified about the unknown spaces in their clan but can manage a few of the tunnels nearest the clan without a friend. Something she preened about, even if it was something many others could do.
