Our little family

Lo encountered Marye when she was around 10.

He was still an active adventurer and 30. The miqo'te was travelling on the back of his trusty Mayonnaise when the chocobo decided to change course a bit and go near a bush seemingly without reasons.
Lo discovered the reason fast enough : a little lalafellin girl was softly whimpering, hidden by the leaves. She didn’t seem to be in good health, tested by a long and arduous journey.

He didn’t think and took the girl in his arms to carry her to a safe place, Mayonnaise protecting and healing his master and his charge in the meanwhile.
They weren't far from Gridania and Lo’s apartment.

The miqo’te took care of the child as best as he could. He stayed by her bedside, prepared light meals and made her drink at regular intervals.
At first she didn’t talk and was ready to fight in an instant, being very defensive and unsure of Lo’s attitude. She smelled thoroughly every meal he prepared for her and didn’t eat anything if he didn’t take some from her plate beforehand.

Time passed and Lo got attached to her. She opened up a bit more but didn’t tell him her name. But through the echo Lo knew it and called her one day.
She bawled her eyes out and told her story. Why she was alone for so long, why nobody wanted her in her town, why she was so afraid and didn’t like to be touched even for waking her up or helping her to walk or stand.
They were the same in some way, forced to leave the place they were born for the same reason : Not being the person everyone said they were.

The miqo'te took her under his wing and raised her as if she was his own daughter. The both of them created their own little family.
This encounter changed them both for the better.
Lo that always felt alone and without any tie finally didn’t feel this way anymore and could call someone his family. Marye that always felt unloved and unwanted finally had someone that loved her enough to destroy heaven and earth to see her happy every day.
