Performance - 'New Millenium'
A drabble resulting from a Tumblr Ask - Send ♪Singing Soul♪ and I will shuffle My music playlist, the song I land on will be the song Your Muse walks in on Mine singing. The chosen song was Dream Thater's 'New Millenium'.
For awhile now, the azure brood of Ratatoskr was melancholy; with the way that he shuffled about the flat, tail low and eyes dulled, it was as though all the happiness he’d ever exuded was forever lost. The war had long since drawn to a close, but that fact alone didn’t seem to raise his spirits.
Bare feet padded over wooden floors until he found his favourite basking spot; a window seat facing the East, that drank deep of the morning light. The Dravanian all put fell into the nest of pillows, tapping a singular claw against the frosted glass. His lips parted, exhaling a breath that would only further cloud the surface.
A single star behind me,
A red sky burns ahead;
A lonely light below me,
Awake among the dead… ♪
The sound of the latch behind him seemingly went unnoticed; or if he had heard it, he chose to ignore it. Traces of aether spread along the glass, trailing behind his golden claw; symbols, words… their meanings long lost to the minds of men.
An overwhelming feeling…
Leaves me numb and strange;
A sense of new beginning,
I sense a wind of change… ♪
It was the hand on his shoulder that finally pulled him from his trance; Erethys rolled onto his back and smiled up at his friend, the runes on the glass fading beneath the sun’s embrace.
