The Power of a Lunch
Poem written for http://aminoapps.com/p/f0cywz
A fairy fair came through one day
To settle for a while.
And even though not long she’d stay,
She still looked for a smile.
A long-time fairy resident
Of the little neighborhood
To the new one’s house she went
To meet her, if she could.
Thrice she knocked on wooded door
When friendly face arrived
An invitation, you ask what for?
A lunch where she abide.
Happily she answered “yes”
Our new fairy did.
She put on her nicest dress
And out the door she slid.
While eating lunch, the fresh face asked
To be the other’s friend,
Even though when a month had passed,
Her time here would end.
She gladly gave her friendship
To the kind passer-by
They forged a sweet relationship
And boy, the time did fly.
Weeks went on,
A month was nigh.
Time for our fairy
To say goodbye.
Leaving was such sweet sorrow
But both knew as they part
They would exist forever, tomorrow,
In each other’s heart.
