Cinderstar is the founder and leader of Sycamoreclan. This means that she has a lot of weight on her shoulders, but she's willing to bear it for the loyalty of her cats.
Everyone looks up to Cinderstar, and everyone goes to her for decisions. She's the one who decides who can join the clan, who is allowed to hunt freely on their territory, and whether or not to confront dangerous cats. Luckily for the clan, the last option hasn't appeared for them yet. Mainly, Cinderstar is the one who dictates where a cat will fit into the clan upon joining.
She's the rule-maker and a rule-enforcer. However, since she's the founder of the clan she's free to make various ranks that will help her or will help new cats fit in. In particular, Cinderstar created the role of the deputy to loosen some of the weight off of her shoulders and to have some outside help with the decisions.
