The Sugarnix known as Static stumbled un-graciously through the Irre desert in search of water. So far, he had found nothing but an old bottle with an angry looking Hermyte inside and a dried-up bananna peel. Nothing to quench his thirst, and certainly nothing interesting. (Though, the Hermyte was quite adorable).

He was now on his way over a particularly large sand dune, shielding his wide eyes from blowing sand with his ears and trying not to let the wind carry him off. The sand dune was, in fact, only three feet high. But to the tiny Sugarnix, who was the size of your palm, the dune appeared as a treacherous mountain, and the soft breeze a sand storm.

It may occur to you that a small sugarnix all alone in the Irre desert is a slightly concerning situation. How did he get there? Why has he embarked on this dangerous mission? Well, in actuality, he was not all alone, nor was he in the middle of the Irre desert. He had simply tumbled down the dune earlier, thinking it was flat at the peak, when in fact it was not. But since Static halted just over two metres away then, to him, this journey felt longer than most.

And, as previously announced, he was not in the middle of the Irre desert. The oasis him And his friends Bluppy and Harpie were playing in was just over the dune. Bluppy and Harpie themselves stood at the peak of the dune, squeaking their encouragement. Static was now halfway to the top. Harpie was jumping up and down on his chubby, duck-like feet while Bluppy continued to release his high-pitched squeaks and, being the smallest of the trio, sheilding himself from the wind by ducking low on the hot sand.

Static was just a few inches from the dune’s peak, and Harpie helped to pull him up. Once he was stood firmly beside his friends, he ducked low so Bluppy could clamber on his back. The three traveled back down the dune to the Oasis, where Harpie leaped straight in, and Bluppy followed more slowly.

Static rushed to the waters edge for a long drink. He was just about to stop when a huge (well, huge compared to Static) wave splashed over his head, drenching him in freezing water. He whipped his head up to see Harpie squeaking happily again, floating on his back. Bluppy hid just below the surface, looking nervous.

Static growled playfully, dipping his front paws into the water. If Harpie wanted a water fight, he was going to get one. Once Static felt his paw-fur was wet, he also dipped his tail and ears to the waves. Harpie didn’t seem to notice. His eyes were closed and he was Still squeaking with glee. Bluppy, however, was staring at the sugarnix from below the surface, not wanting his tiny, squishy body to get hurt.

Static let out an adorable battle cry and flung the water from his fur onto Harpie’s belly, causing him to flip over in shock. Bluppy retreated further underwater as Static squeaked in joy and Harpie turned back around, his eyes gleaming with mischief. The Draphibi gathered Water in his stubby fingers, their thickness serving as excellent water proof. He flung the water at Static, who dodged and flicked more water from his fur at Harpie.

Harpie retreated under the water, causing Bluppy to swim a little further away. Static scanned the water in search of Harpie, but it was hard now the sand beneath had been disturbed. A claw pinched Static’s bushy tail and he spun around to see Harpie’s Hermyte, Rubert, snapping his tiny claws In the air with annoyance. Hey- that wasn’t fair! Harpie had help!

While Static was distracted, Harpie had splashed more water on his head. Static tried to do the same but his friend had already retreated by the time he spun around. Rubert grabbed his tail again.

Static sounded what may of resembled a growl, now more determined to get Harpie. He looked over at Bluppy, who was staring at a certain patch of water rarther nervously. Maybe that was where Harpie was? The small sugarnix decided it was so, and leaped to the spot with another adorable battle cry.

He landed square on Harpie, causing him to surface. Once his head broke the water, he squeaked and lifted his chubby Fingers again to communicate the message ‘I give up’.

Static yelped happily, splashing the Draphibi one last time before heading back to shore. He shook the water from his fur and Harpie did the same from his wings. Bluppy appeared nervously beside them. He too shook droplets from his smooth body. Static allowed Bluppy to clamber back onto his back, and Harpie picked up Rubert, who was still snapping at anything he saw, and nuzzled his shell.

The Draphibi placed the Crab-like creature on a rock beneath a palm tree to keep him cool, and sat behind him. Static followed, allowing Bluppy to slide off his back, and curled up, tail over his nose, beside the two. His fur was clumped from the previous battle, and he soon fell asleep, his fur cooler now.
