Sakusa found himself unable to tear his eyes away from Svetlana. She stood on the opposite side of the net dressed in a white tank top and pink shorts that gave him a generous view of her thighs. She had fresh bruises on them from her previous practice at her own school. He could only fantasize planting soft kisses over each bruise that colored over her skin. His dark eyes stared intently as she did her stretches and warm-ups. He would never admit it, but he found her concentrated face so cute. The way her eyes focused on one spot. The way the muscles in her calves flexed and twitched. The way she took in a sharp breath when the pain in her injured knee became too much to bear.

Once she finished her routine, she walked over to where her lavender and black school bag resided on the floor. She crouched down, taking a small tube of strawberry chapstick from her bag. Taking a drink of his water, Sakusa angled himself so that he was able to watch as she applied the chapstick to her lips. Svetlana happened to glance his way as she smacked her lips, spreading the sweet flavor across her chapped lips, softening them.

He didn't anticipate his heart jumping up into his throat. He spat out his water, nearly choking on the clear liquid. He jumped back in an attempt to prevent the water that was dribbling down his chin from dampening his clothes. His cheeks reddened at the mortifying act.

"You know, for a germophobe, that was really gross," Komori stated, an unimpressed expression settling on his face after being sprayed with a mixture of water and Sakusa's saliva.

Svetlana smiled, waving to both Sakusa and Komori.

"Q-quiet and get me a towel..." Sakusa replied, returning a small wave.

"You're the one who sprayed me," Komori muttered. Not noticing the girl from Inarizaki High waving to him, he arched a brow at his cousin. "Why is your face so red?" His eyes followed his cousin's gaze. "Ah, I see now," he said, a gentle and thoughtful smile on his lips.

"Don't read too much into it. Just embarrassed," Sakusa stated, the blush on his face burning hotter, the tips of his ears growing red.

"Because your girlfriend saw you squirt?" Komori smiled, handing Sakusa a towel.

"Don't be so crude," he said, wiping water from his chin. He held the towel over his nose and mouth in an attempt to hide the blush that still plagued his cheeks, "and she's not my girlfriend," he added, his eyes fixed on Svetlana as she spoke with a smile to his team's captain.

Sakusa smiled longingly beneath the towel. One day.
