Her best friends are fellow caregivers. She's very close to Splashreed since they're close to age and he's not physically capable of carrying kits, but he has the possibility of having his own kits from his own genes. She's a little jealous of that. There's also Pearstorm and Jaggednose, who are younger. Pearstorm has a female mate, so if they ever had kits they would need to adopt. Jaggednose is also a male caregiver, but he fell in love with a loner and had his own kits as well. Although her jealousy tends to stir seeing the happy family together, she's very fond of his kits named Geodekit, Jellyfishkit, and Acaciakit.

Her biggest trial she went through after arriving in Shoreclan was losing a kit. She was caring for her adopted son named Rainkit, an adventurous tom that had dreams of becoming an apprentice early and being an amazing warrior. He wandered away from the nursery and onto the shore, claiming he was going to catch a shark. Before she could swim into the waters, Rainkit had gotten too far and was swept away by the waves. A few days later, a patrol walked beside the shore and found his body not far from the camp. For moons, Snow grieved his death and cursed herself for being so careless. If only she had kept a closer eye on him. If only she had swum faster. If only the waves hadn't been so rough that day.

After getting past her grief, she realized that there were lessons within her blame. She could have kept a closer eye on him, but their camp was located on the beach and he was bound to do something reckless one day. He shouldn't have died due to his actions, but she shouldn't blame herself for his ambition and confidence. Those personality traits were what made him special. Besides, you can't be angry at the cat who died.
