Keep Away

Despite always having looked at Shinji with those thoughts, Jian felt like he was the one to blame. All he ever wanted was for Shinji too notice. But nothing was right. Not the time. Not their ages. Not the love. Jian hated himself.

Only one selfish request like that, simply ruined Shinji's life. He regretted it, but he clearly understood that he was the only one to blame. Asking a Fleuros to grant his wish.. Jian still couldn't believe his actions, even years later. "Please make it possible for him to fall in love with anyone but me!" these words kept echoing in Jians head. They caused him to overthink. They caused a headache.

This happened so quickly, and he didn't have a second to consider Shinji's life. He was selfish. But he didn't want to ruin Shinji's life. So choosing to disappear back then, was the only right option for Jian.

It has been 6 years since then. And yet Jian still felt bad. Even thought he asked for this, he didn't expect the Fleuros to actually grant his wish. Now... now he just hoped that maybe..Shinji was able to fall in love with someone properly. He told himself to never look at Shinji this way again. To forget about the past. But he never forgot. So the only option that Jian had was to leave the siblings behind and move far far away, so that they would never meet again.

He worked as author now, which was totally not what Jian wanted to become. He had always dreamt of becoming a cyber hacker- but you don't always get what you wanted in life. Huffing silently as he closed the laptop, he smiled. Once again he was stuck at the novel. It just didn't make sense. The protagonist, If he confessed to the other protagonist, how ...how would she react? What would she say? Would she accept his feelings? Or not? But this was supposed to be a love story. Shoving the laptop aside, Jian stood up to take a walk. Some fresh air will bring himself out of this writer slump, he thought.

Jian took a long walk and after spotting a new store he had mever seen in this are he decided to give it a try. Just as he walked into the Store, freshly brewn coffee smell hit his senses and an employee greeted him in a sweet voice. "Welcome dear customer" the happy voice shouted and just as Jian was to reply, he looked down at the employee and noticed the sudden apprarance from the boy. Covering his mouth as his face and ears were completely red, Jian realized that walking into the cafe was a mistake. The boy infront of him was Shinji, who had flustered up upon seeing Jian. Oh no, Jian thought, too troubled to even say a single word. He wasn't meant to run into Shinji, and just by seeing this expression on the boy made him realize that the fleuros didn't lie about fullfilling the wish.

Eager to leave the store again, Jian stepped back hoping to leave. But just as he was about to turn around Shinji grabbed his wrist. "Please wait." He shouted, with his arms trembling shyly. "My shift ends soon, please wait for me outside" was all he said in a voice, trembling as if he were on the verge of crying.

Jian was confused. He was standing infront of the shop, pulling on his hair as he wondered If he was doing the right thing. He could leave any second.... no, not could, he had to leave. He wasn't supposed to meet Shinji again.. so why. Jian was surprised. He remembered the small statue of Shinji, the back then 14 year old boy who was a mere ball of energy. Oblivious to any signs of love and too dense to realize what Jian's confession meant. He was taller now. He grew up quite a lot and now he didn't have the child like proportions anymore. He was thin, but the hand that grabbed for Jian's wrist was strong, despite trembling Jian wasn't able to shake Shinji's hand off.. ah...he did grew up into quite the sight. Jian blushed, covering his face with his hand. He wasn't supposed to...fall all over again. So what was he still doing here? Patiently listening to Shinji's demand. Just as he decided that he had to dash off, the door of the store opened and Shinji came out. At one glance Jian confirmed: He indeed grew up. Shinji was now...20? He wondered looking at the boy. Shinji was saying something, showing all kinds of troubled and happy expressions he was telling Jian something. But Jian was too emmerged in his own thoughts to pay attention to.

"And so I'm saying!!" Shinji shouted, pulling on Jian's sleeve which brought him back to reality "I'm sayinc that I really missed you. I was surprised when you just vanished from one day to the other" Jian smiled slightly. Oh if Shinji knew... "What about you?" Shinji asked, showing a pained expression.

"Me too." Jian said. It wasn't a lie. But even so he knew that seeing Shinji again was selfish. Watching as the other boy blushed up shyly just confirmed to Jian that it was already too late. the Curse had taken it's steps. "Shinji I..." Jian started, hesitating at first before continuing "I don't want to see you again."
