Flash Line: Worm Hunt

Three Angies were hiding behind some pebbles near a burrow, the sleepy snowdrop closest to the hole. — Kyo, stay alert! You're supposed to tell us if you see it! — whispered Maa'ui, noticing his pal nodding off as usual. Behind him, his pink-haired plootner was struggling with a string, trying to prepare a knot for their target.

I told you I wanted to be the lookout! — said Yang obnoxiously as his knot unraveled for the tenth time.

The ground shifted under them, some dirt falling into the burrow's opening. Maa'ui braced himself, preparing for the catch — Yang! Is the rope ready? I think it's co— he couldn't even finish his sentence when the giant earthworm burst out of the ground, the dormant Kyo thrown backwards as it came out.

Maa'ui quickly lunged forwards to grab it mid-air but the writhing critter simply slipped through his arms and landed on Yang, who had managed to get himself tangled in the rope. The skunk cabbage let out a shriek of horror and his blooms immediately blasted a thick cloud of unbearable stink causing Kyo, who had just sat back up, to fall backwards again and faint.

The cannabis Plottie, already used to his lover's smelly mishaps, ignored the scent and jumped onto the worm's back as it tried to get away, riding the squirming creature into the horizon. Reaching behind his back he realized he had forgotten to grab the rope. — *Why did you do thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! — the sound of his voice echoed as the two got away.

Waving away the last remnants of his cloud of stench, Yang stood next to Kyo's unconscious body, tying the rope around the snowdrop's ankle. — You're useless...— he said bitterly as he started to walk in search of Maa'ui and the worm, dragging Kyo behind him.
