Talli's Surprise

Talli awoke one morning feeling sick, she didn't want to move from her bed all day. Alwar noticed, and began to worry. Talli was normally full of life, and never really slept in all that much. He tended to her every need, making sure she was alright. He brought her a receptacle to vomit into, and refused to leave her side, although Talli told him that she was sure it was just a passing bug. It's a rare thing for a unicorn to get sick, even rarer that another unicorn cannot seem to help the affliction. He wrapped his wing around her, casting soft healing magics around her, but she seemed to get no better. 

Then Alwar made the decision, and took her to Clora's. He felt like he was out of options. He was concerned over the fact that his magic was doing nothing to help, and being the king of the most powerful and magical race in the realm, this was more than worrysome. Alwar, normally a patient man, paced the floor while Talli was in the examination room. He waited impatiently for answers, making stark realizations about his feelings toward Talli. They had been courting for a long time, and he found himself completely devoted to her, going to lengths he never thought he would, all to make sure Talli was alright. 

The door to the exam room opened, and Talli came out with a smile, a sick looking smile, but a smile. Alwar rushed to her asking Clora if she was alright, and Clora spoke up. 

"Talli will be fine, this illness will pass. It's perfectly normal for her to have morning sickness for a while, but let her rest, okay?" Alwar looked bewildered before Talli showed him a little white stick with two lines on it. His eyes widened, at a loss for words. "congratulations, you two. You're expecting." Alwar burst into tears and laughter, bringing Talli close. 

"Thank heavens! I thought I was going to lose you!" He kissed her, and breathed in her scent. "We… We're having a baby… We're Having A Baby!!" he laughed, feeling himself tingle all over, feeling his head get dizzy. "We're having a baby…" his voice seemed almost dream-like as his eyes drift to her stomach, his smile growing. 

"Yes…" Talli laughed a little, tired and still feeling sick. "Clora said I've passed my first trimester… so in about six more months…" Alwar's eyes grew larger in surprise. 

"S… Six? You're already Three months along?!" Talli gave a nod. 

"doesn't feel like that long… but-" she takes Alwar's hand and pushes it against her belly, "see how it's firm? Soon it'll be obvious." 

Alwar looked amazed. He then meets Talli's eyes, "Talli… this is absolutely wonderful. While you were in there, I didn't know what I was going to do. I was doing a lot of thinking. We have been courting for a long time, and well… this changes everything," Talli was about to speak, when Alwar dropped down on his knee, holding her hand, looking into her eyes, "Talli, will you become my Queen of the Unicorn Kingdom?" Talli was in pure shock, she nearly vomited on Alwar- however, she kept her composure, and managed to say yes. Alwar told Talli that he intended to make the announcement as soon as she was feeling better. To announce their engagement, and to announce her pregnancy to the kingdom, and that their wedding will be held as soon as possible. Talli was to invite anyone she wished to attend, and she already knew that she wanted her adoptive parents and her adoptive siblings to attend, as well as a few other bits of her new family.
