Taliesin questions the release of his god

Entry 2

Taliesin honestly wasn’t sure if he liked this plan of Ravens, unleashing the devil himself, it seemed, it just seemed…

He let out a heavy sigh and dug the heels of his hands into his eyes as he looked over the ocean, his glowing eyes stood out against the dark and without bothering to conceal himself in shadows he stood out like a sore thumb with the faint glow his amethyst scars emitted. The others here tried to ignore him still, going on with whatever tasks Raven had given them, those able were in the water, finding him and releasing him, his GOD.

Tal could only put it down to his conviction to the devil, hell his whole damn life was essentially a dedication to the god himself, he’d been sacrificed to the devil, rescued by him, Tal then sacrificed his family and life for the devil and in return gained his abilities, the shadows, the devils token it was all thanks to him, his skin akin to the devils but a bright and brilliant amethyst compared to the gold, the immortality he too now shared, he hoped it meant more, that he meant more, that it meant something but in the face of potential release of his god Taliesin was as simple put, torn.

It wasn’t as if he didn’t want the devil to be released, he wanted nothing more than for his god to take his rightful place amongst the plethora of other beings on this world but under this pretence? He wasn’t sure if he agreed wholeheartedly with it, sure at first he was excited about all of this but now, life and consequences seemed all too real.

“You do not agree with my plan, do you” Tal narrowed his eyes, he didn’t need this right now with the under monologue he was already having to deal with, he looked over at Raven as he spoke and made his presence know , it wasn’t a question, the Aphex knew of his inner contemplations.

“It isn’t that I don’t agree, it’s the pretence of all of this, the devil is…” Tal looked back out over the ocean and sighed, Omen choosing not to make an appearance it seemed only made his inner conflict worse. “Why do you care?” Tal instead questioned, why was the leader of the damn army even bothering him, didn’t he have something better to do like, I don’t know, release a god?

“Like I said before, I know who you are, the stories of you even reached my ears, I would like your input if I’m honest, your connection to the devil is different to those else I’ve spoken too” Raven hummed, he too cast a look over the ocean. “I would be a poor leader if I didn’t try to understand my subjects views, that make me-“

“Swan” Tal almost snorted at the pity comparison, it reminded him that just like himself, Raven, Onyx, was just another Aphex.

“Exactly, so tell me your thoughts, I promise not to be offended, too much” Raven smirked slightly as he came to sit beside Tal which honestly shocked him slightly, but he didn’t speak on it.

“The devil, he isn’t a bargaining chip to be used, he’s been used all of his life, from creation to imprisonment he was a slave, yet even with all the anger he holds, the resentment and the pain he still finds it in his golden heart to help others. I fear this move is something akin to the slavery he is used too, even with apparent freedom he knows your intentions here, he is a god. That’s why I want not part in this, why I’m sitting here seemingly doing nothing, I may not agree with your ways but don’t misunderstand, I’m still on your side of this, I’d just prefer you leave him alone”

Raven hummed once Taliesin had finished speaking and stood once again. “Thank you for voicing your opinion, but has the devil given you any form of signal to show he isn’t willing?”

“Not exactly” Tal’s brows furrowed, what did he even mean?

“So how do you know the devil doesn’t want to be released under these pretences?” He countered. “He is a god, at any point I believe he would have escaped his chains from the depths, I believe in fate Taliesin and I believe that he has waited until this very moment, for this revolution in the current world and upon his release he will regain his place in the plethora, or his will take it by force” He placed a hand on Tals shoulder and squeezed. “And as he was there for us, we will be there to follow him” he cast one last final look at the ocean. “Don’t confuse my pitiful family drama for just that, you’ll see, there is more to this than you’ve been led to believe” He said before leaving Taliesin to look over the ocean.

“I hope you’re right”
