Ember 013 [Starter]
-Location/Fair-
After their trip with the dressing up, Iniko decided to direct the group to another part of the fair where more of the games and competitions took place. They left the majority of their outfits behind, but Iniko was glad to see the ruby and snow runner kept the beautiful hairdo the puller had done. The blanketed male was quite pleased with the result and was sure other fair goers would love to see as well.
Ember was dashing ahead of them, weaving between the legs of taller reos and letting that little chaser body of hers get her where she wanted to go. She ended up at a game that had bottles stacked and lined up, and reos and humanoids alike trying to knock them down with balls. The humanoids used their hands to lob the balls in one part of the stall, while reos had to kick the balls in a much larger part of the stall to accommodate. Some of the bottles were filled with water and rocks, proving the game to not just be a test of accuracy, but also a test of strength to see if you could even knock the bottles down if you hit them.
"Ooo I want to do this one!" The three tailed female dragged her male companions over to investigate the game.
"Doesn't look too hard. Want to try to please the little lady?" Iniko grinned slyly, the reddish chaser bounced for joy as she saw the males were playing along.
Koma gave the blanketed puller a light bump, shoulder to shoulder and a grin of his own in reply, clearly up for the challenge. People around them were bustling, humans and Reoseans alike. The fair was getting ever more crowded by the minute and it seemed as though they had reached this booth in the nick of time.
As they pulled up to the stand, the ruby runner ran his eyes through the bottles. At first glance he thought the challenge would be a lot easier, though with further inspection he could tell that it would be a lot harder than anticipated. At least for him. His small physique could handle its own, but brute strength wasn’t his forte and he couldn’t simply charm or magically bend his way out of this one.
This left a puzzled look on the runner’s face. One could tell that we wanted to participate but he was already calculating how to optimize his play. A light twitch of his pulled back ears and a partial frown weighed on his expression.
“C’mon guys!” Ember burst through Koma’s thoughts, snapping him back to reality. She was bouncing all over, but mostly she jumped to nip and Koma’s braided hair, trying to get him to focus and approach the games even more.
The split runner chuckled a bit but his eyes kept going back to the other participants that had gone before him, wondering how in the world he’d be able to pull this one off. So far, he’d been up to par with Iniko and Ember, but this time, he believed he was out of his league.
Iniko realizes that perhaps this set of games wasn't quite good for the other two. Coordination was one thing but the strength aspect was something he alone really brought to this team.
He just about turned around and offered to find them another game, but he noticed Ember's gaze stuck on the stuffed animals on the wall behind them.
"Iniko! I dont think I can do this game, but maybe you could win for me pretty please?"
He was smitten.
Looking over at the other chaser, he grinned and gestured to the chaser. He put on his best accent and drawled out the words as he spoke.
"Well dontcha reckon I better help a little lady out?" With a wink tossed over his shoulder, he stepped up to the plate.
"Just watch darlin', Ima win this for ya. Maybe a kiss for good luck?"
Koma sighed quietly in relief when the others weren’t looking. He was gladly going to avoid this embarrassment, but perked right back up when Ember did her usual charms at Iniko.
Her three kistune tails wiggled incessantly, her energy was contagious and Koma finally released a relaxed giggle.
The little chaser was so excited, she didn’t even think twice, she ran up to Iniko, getting as close to him as she could get and bounced right up to smack a smooch right on the puller’s cheek.
“Iniiiiikoooooo” Her little lungs barely had enough air to contain all that excitement “Thank you thank you!” She blessed him before the snowflaked puller would take his shot at the game.
She ran back to Koma’s side and both watched the bulky male prepare, their eyes glistening with anticipation.
“Knock ‘em solid, Iniko!” Koma cheered over the loud crowd, the high spirits coursing through his body.
Heh. Iniko didn't mind either of his lovely companions giving him a kiss, although Ember was more than cute about it.
Koma's cheers encouraged him further, causing him to grin like a fool. Alrigh. He had to win it for her. He kicked the ball in front of him a bit, playing with it between his paws to get a feel for the weight. There was no real breeze to alter the trajectory, and he tossed it up into the air once or twice to play with it.
Yeah, he had this. Lining up his shot, the puller looked back at his two companions, tossing a wink yet again before swinging his paws to kick the ball with as much force as he could muster. A few bottles fell immediately, and the rest wobbled, causing everyone to hold their breaths.
When the last one finally fell, tossing the rocks inside it, he found himself buried in red fur from his companions. Gesturing to the large teddy bear Ember had been eyeing up, the stall vendor brought it down into the cuddle pile of squeals. Days like this made him happy, made him wish he never had to leave.
