Garlic | Buck | Sergeant
Garlic took a deep breath as he stepped out of his nest. He was glad he didn’t have to go on patrol, especially after the last time her went. That dumb weasel- he sighed, getting out into the fresh air. He hoped to have a peaceful breakfast but he didn’t mind any chaos happening along the way. He exchanged some "good mornings" and "byes" as he walked looking for some fresh food to enjoy. Garlic walked slower then usual since he was still tired. Garlic looked down, and being dumb he bumped into another rabbit. He wanted to shout "Watch where you’re going" but before he could he noticed it was the captain that accompanied him on his last patrol.
He got up and and cleared his throat before talking. Hello. Captain Magpie, isn’t it? he took a deep breath. He hadn’t really interacted with the captain much but he it wouldn’t hurt to get close. If you don’t remember me, I’m Sergeant Garlic. he said, still a little embarrassed for bumping into her. How are you this morning? I’m sure you are fine. he gave a small weak smile, he wasn’t the best at showing his emotions but he tried most times.

Magpie | Doe | Captain
It was early morning, and there was much to do in the warren. But first, Magpie wanted to grab a few bites before she started her duties. Oddly out of all the years, Bogweed Woods seemed to do somewhat well with the vegetation this summer. She searched for a spot of tall grass that wasn't already swarmed by the other hungry rabbits. The captain almost gave up, but alas, there was a patch. There were some rabbits close by, but it was good enough for the tiny captain.
"Aye there Cap'n! You come to eat too?" a random warrenmate called out with a grinning mouthful of grasses. "Hm? Oh yes, yes, of course I did, what else would I be doing out here so early?" Magpie responded, lowering her face to the grass without batting an eye to the rabbit. Now blissfully chewing away at the juicy plants, she flicked an ear. Today is a good day. Then she felt another rabbit bump into her from behind. At first, she spat out some of the remaining grasses with her maw open and ready to snap at the stranger, but then when she turned around she realized what idiot had rammed into her.
Oh. It's him.
"Hello, yes, that's me. I remember you, weasel snack." She stated plainly before breaking into a small fit of laughter. Her statement could only make the buck feel slightly more embarrassed than he already was. As soon as the sergeant began muttering out his question, the doe began stuffing her face full of the grasses again, "Mm," she hummed with a small pause to chew and swallow, "Yes, I am indeed fine. What about you, sergeant?" She asked in return, diving her face down in the grass once again.

Garlic | Buck | Sergeant
Thats nice to know, captain. Such a doe deserves to be fine on this day he said, taking a bite of grass. maybe I should just leave her alone- but she seems like she’d be cool to hang with. his thoughts were racing through his mind trying to think of what to do. Just ask her to go the farm- its no big deal- you just want to get to know her better- he took a deep breath and finished the food in his mouth. So Captain- if you don’t mind, I’m going to the farm, if you’d like you can join me.

Magpie | Doe | Captain
"Hmm, I suppose so," Magpie hummed in agreement, gently chewing away at the plantation. While feasting upon her breakfast, she was unaware to Garlic's questionable body language: his constant shuffling and fidgeting with his paws, his rapidly twitching nose. Surely something was wrong with the buck, and yet Magpie wouldn't dare acknowledge it. At least, until he began to take a deep breath.
The Captain rose her head with a brow arched, The farm... what is this? Some kind of invitation to a date?! She stared at him, almost stupefied at the thought. She hadn't done anything like that in a long time! The last time she could remember having silflay with someone was back when she was with a buck that she just simply wouldn't mention.
After a second of freezing in thought, she spat out her mouthful of grass with an uproar of laughter. "The farm?! Oh, you must be crazy! Of course I'm going! You think I'm going to miss out on an opportunity like that?" She stood up and wiped a paw across her mouth. This buck here, was something different. His ideas were so insanely stupid sometimes, it was almost charming in a way. The kind of charm she would expect from a doe in a desperate plan to escape something.

Garlic | Buck | Sergeant
Well then- lets get going before it gets too late. the buck said, leading the small Captain towards the way to the farm. So Captain, want to do some ice breakers? I’ll go first. Garlic calmly said, looking straight forward instead of looking at her. He seemed to be calmer than he was before- still feeling nervous about this trip. Although he didn’t want to admit it, he wanted this to be a date and hoped for the doe to catch on sooner or later- if she didn’t, he’d be fine- garlic didn’t think he was that into her. Besides doing my duties- I usually spend my time at the farm- it has quite the food, usually feeds me for the rest of the day. I also sometimes go to the nursery- check out the kits. Never been quite a father myself- although I don’t plan for it right now, it sure would be nice. he chuckled at his words. a father? oh he sure hoped he could be one but he’d have to find the right doe.
I’m not quite an interesting buck, but I at least have some stuff to do. he smiled, looking back at Magpie, and quickly looking back forward so he wouldn’t trip. He sighed, his nerves were calmed down for now- just him and the captain. Enough about me- tell me about yourself Captain Magpie. he raised an eyebrow, curious to what she had to say about herself. I’m sure you’re a very interesting doe- in fact I’m curious about you, considering our first meeting wasn’t the best.

Magpie | Doe | Captain
Almost immediately after accepting the offer, the two began making their way to the farmlands. Only part way through, Garlic began to ask a question. Before she could even respond, however, he insisted that he would start. While the captain listened, she let out a few chuckles here and there, "Bah, there's plenty more rabbits with even less of an interesting story; always sitting on their asses and moping around. Those ones I would absolutely throw at an elil if I was able to." She admitted with a halfhearted snicker.
"Ah, well. To start things off, most rabbits seem to only recognize me for being the Lieutenant's sister instead of just Captain Magpie, so that's realll fun." She started, "I spend most of my time patrolling, doing my daily chores, sparring with a few rabbits occasionally. Nothing much. Back when we had the prison pits, I had to guard those too. Those were some good days..." Magpie looked up to the sky for a brief moment with a sigh, "I've had only two litters so far. I believe the both of em are all dead by now though, heh." Not that the litters mattered much to her anyway, but it was a bit disappointing knowing that her kits weren't strong enough to live.
Before long, the farm was coming into view, "Oh look, I believe that is our destination." She bumped the buck's arm with her elbow and ran ahead. "C'mon, I've got places to be! We gotta make this quick!" The grey doe called out and sprinted off.

Garlic | Buck | Sergeant
Alright, Im coming! the buck sprinted after the doe, catching up to her. The farm- haven’t been In awhile he took a deep breath as they arrived, sneaking around to find a safe spot. Garlic nudged the doe to an area, sitting down and patting a spot for her. Finally- we can eat. he chuckled, bending down to grab his first bite. So Captain. the buck began, pausing to chew and sallow his piece. I’m sure someday someone will notice you as more than the lieutenant’s sister- I have faith. he smiled at the doe after he spoke. You’re a pretty cool doe, I hope you think as me the same- just kidding with you of course. he laughed, nudging the doe on the shoulder.

Magpie | Doe | Captain
When the two rabbits reached the farm, Garlic hurried over to a fresh garden bed with little regard for the dangers surrounding them. Idiot! She hissed in her mind while she watched the buck sneak off quickly. Magpie stood where she was and used her senses to make sure the coast was mostly clear. After checking her surroundings, she began chasing after the heedless buck.
"Yeah, but for how long, sergeant?" Magpie replied while she hunkered down next to the buck. In front of them was a variety of flayrah: cabbages, spinach, carrots, and tomatoes just to name a few. The doe turned her ears to Garlic to listen. She rubbed her paws together, licking her lips, and bowed down to rip off a part of a spinach leaf. Blissfully crunching away at the delightful plant, she allowed herself time to swallow before she responded, "Mm, I'm sure too. I might be small, but one day I'm gonna be the new general, and I'll be the best damn one you've ever seen!" The captain joked with another leaf in her mouth. Forgetting to be polite and finish eating before talking, Magpie burst into tears of laughter, "Ha! Sure thing- With a brain like yours, I'm not even sure how you get around, and that right there I'd say is pretty cool-"

Garlic | Buck | Sergeant
Well I uh- took him awhile to process magpie’s words, but the buck manged to continue his sentence. I can get around fine with my brain, just some troubles here and there. the buck continued, bending down to get piece of cabbage after he spoke. After swallowing the food in his mouth, he looked over at his companion, enjoying the peaceful silence they had so far. Noticing she was still distracted, he took his chance and slightly moved closer to the Captain. She wouldn’t mind. the buck reassured himself in his thoughts, continuing his lunch like normal.
I haven’t been here in awhile- the farm always seems to amaze me. the sergeant said, looking around their area with a small smile on his face. Captain Magpie, I appreciate you for accepting my offer, I haven’t had a better interaction in moons.

Magpie | Doe | Captain
"Pshh, I'm sure." The small doe snickered for one last time. After that, the two kept quite silent, the only noises heard between them being the common bird songs and their incisors crunching away at the fresh flayrah. While feasting away at the remains of a spinach plant, she felt a blanket of warmth on her side. Not a moment later, she lifted her head and looked Garlic in the eyes, still crunching at the flayrah in her mouth. Am I imagining things or did he just move closer- oh, never mind that.
The captain ducked her head back down with her ears directed at Garlic, having been given thanks from the large sergeant, she made sure to look up to him with nothing stuffed in her face, "Of course, it was my pleasure. I don't typically hang around other rabbits like this so consider yourself lucky." After responding to Garlic, she gave him a smug grin.

Garlic | Buck | Sergeant
Well, I guess I am very lucky. I’m surprised I haven’t seen most rabbits ask you out. As friends of course. the buck replied, saving himself at the last moment. she probably already knows what’s up- she doesn’t want to be with you.  The sergeant continued to eat,  looking over towards his companion a few times to make sure she was enjoying herself. I hope the dog doesn’t come out- don’t need you saving my ass again. he let out a small laugh at the end of his sentence, looking up from the food to see if the dog actually wasn’t there. Although I don’t mind being saved by you anytime- it must be such hard work. the large buck’s laughter continued, a smirk forming on his face. Oh well, its nice to always have someone to save you- like you did when that weasel attacked us.

Magpie | Doe | Captain
I'm surprised I haven't seen most rabbits ask you out...
as friends of course-
Magpie rolled her eyes with a humorous snort from her nose. She already took it that this was a date, but any rabbit with a brain would understand what was being said there. Friends. Yeah right. She kept her muzzle against the ground, sniffing for any traces of spinach left from where she was eating. Nope. The doe moved along to a small patch of cabbage and began eating away at the plant.
As Garlic mentioned the dog, Magpie shook her head and turned again to look at the dark buck, "Well by mentioning that, I'd be convinced you actually liked that." She joined in the laughter and shook her head again with her mouth back towards the ground. She crunched at one of the leaves and chimed in again with a mouthful when he continued about her saving him, "Hmm? Oh no, not really. I'm short but I've had experience, believe me." The captain tugged at a stubborn cabbage leaf, just before giving it one last tug, however, Garlic spoke more. Magpie clenched her jaw and flexed her claws into the ground and gave a soft sigh, remembering not to lose her temper, "Yes yes of course it is. I'm surprised you couldn't give that vermin a taste of its own medicine, though. That's something that most sergeants should know by now."

Garlic | Buck | Sergeant
I’m not the best with elil so that’s a reason. the buck lowered his head, turning a little red from embarrassment. I guess its a reason I’m not ranking up in a long time. he laughed as he continued to eat. I don’t think I’ve had much interaction with the other Captains, other than patrol but I guess with you, its been successful. Although I’ve made friends with this kit- or uh private now. the sergeant paused to grab some more food before continuing. If I remember correctly- her name was Loam. She’s a handful but very nice once you get to know her. he smiled, remembering the found memories from that conversation he had with Loam.
Besides her, I don’t think I have much uh friends. I tend to focus on my duties, especially with Lan-Hraeth after us. Garlic sighed as he turned over to look at the Captain, seemingly enjoying herself. Good thing she’s having a little fun- it’s cute.. the dark buck shook his head to get rid of those thoughts. He wasn’t the best with relationship stuff or anything so he just tried ignoring his feelings towards the doe.
I keep forgetting how uh peaceful it is to get out of the warren and to the farm, and without the dog after our tails. I’ve heard my fair share of horror stories about the dog, makes going off to the farm more scary. the thought of those stories about those poor sergeants and captains who’ve encountered the dog, make a chill run down his spine.

Magpie | Doe | Captain
When Garlic admitted to not being experienced with elil, Magpie gave an exasperated huff of laughter from under her breath, "Hmm yes. Perhaps so, sergeant. You should get into it more when you have the chance." She gave him a tired smile, then went straight back to tugging at the cabbage leaf. When she managed to pull it off, she rose her head high, eating away with pride. Finally, damn thing. When she finished the leaf, Garlic began chattering again, which struck Magpie's attention once more, "Private Loam... Private Loam... Hmm, I recognize the name... She was one of Captain Dogwood's kits, correct?" She stroked a paw under her chin, "Taking into consideration their paternal side, I would be surprised if she wasn't a handful, ha."
"Sorry to hear that you don't have any friends though... I mean, not like I really have any either, but I'm not exactly 'lovey dovey' and depend on others as you might expect. It's a good idea to keep your top priority on the enemy warren, though. If you weren't to focus on that, you wouldn't be much help to your warren." Magpie explained while sniffing around on the ground for more flayrah. Really, she didn't need anymore. But how often was she given a chance to visit the farm for a bit? She crawled a little further from Garlic to get in reach with a nice big carrot and began munching away at that too.
With a few more bites of the carrot greens in her mouth, she turned to Garlic with a satisfied gleam in her eyes, "Oh yes, it certainly is. But the farm is still no safe haven for rabbit-kind. Just because the dog isn't here right now, doesn't mean we should let our guard down." The small doe leaned down and stretched with a mighty yawn, sitting back with an itch at the ear, "Well, is there anything else we're doing here, or are you still eating? I think I've eaten plenty, don't wanna be too full or I might not be able to get back home." The captain joked, now licking at the bottom of her paw.

Garlic | Buck | Sergeant
Well I think I’m done eating. I think we should start heading back soon. the buck said, clearing his throat before stretching and getting up. I don’t want us to head back too late, we both have our duties to do. he looked towards the entry of the farm, and back at his companion, hoping to get whatever he wanted to do over to maybe go out with Magpie again. Even if I ignore my feelings, I would never get rid of the feeling. Its now or never, if you get rejected at least you won’t have that burden of asking.
Uh Captain Magpie, I was thinking- what if we could be more than friends. By now you’ve probably known that this was definitely a uh date, a little too obvious. I just wanted to get to know you better. the large sergeant looked away, his face was red like the tomatoes in the farm. Garlic cleared his throat once more before he continued to speak, Even if you don’t accept my offer- I’m ok with uh being friends. I just wanted to tell you how I felt and uh try not to ignore my feelings like I usually do.

Magpie | Doe | Captain
Upon agreeing to leave the farm for now, Magpie began hopping towards the way back home. At least until Garlic uttered out something.
I was thinking- what if we could be more than friends?
Magpie should've expected this from the beginning, but she had forgotten what made her think this was some date. The small doe gazed over her shoulder with an unemotional expression. Staring at the flustered buck, she remained speechless until he explained himself for his words. The captain began in an uproar of laughter, "Damn straight that was too obvious! I knew your little plan before we left," She wiped away a tear and squinted at the sergeant with a sly smile, "I knew you were a chatty buck from our first meeting, but that was the kind of chat only a buck with his heartstrings tugged by someone would do." The doe shifted the rest of her body around so she could look to Garlic.
"Anyhow, I'll give you my response." Magpie approached the buck and pulled his head down to her eye level. She gave him an amorous stare and opened her mouth hesitantly to let the words slip, "...I accept your offer." She patted the buck on the cheek and released him from her grasp and turned around to continue back home, "It's been awhile since I've been in a relationship, but I think you've done enough to prove yourself worthy of my attention."

Garlic | Buck | Sergeant
The Sergeant was in shock from Magpie’s answer, trying to speak but no words came out at the moment. I-uh I’ve never been in a relationship- it’s my first time. I’ll try my best, Captain. finally being able to say something, he continued walking aside the doe, a little happier than before. They continued the way back home in silence, the buck didn’t mind. He was well fed and with his companion. He promised himself he’ll do his best with Magpie, hoping to be a good partner for the time being. We should be nearing our arrival soon, I hope you had some fun and uh I’ll be happy to see you again once you’re free. the buck smiled, the pair now arriving to the warren, the buck said his goodbyes and headed off to continue working for the day.
