For the 2023 Mid-Autumn Festival prompt.

All  the BNNUY02 and AW0005’s are excited about the festivities! ...Or are  they? How does your woo celebrate in the festivities? Do they watch the  Pahffle race, perhaps even do bets? Are they going to be admiring the  moon that’s showing in the sky, waiting for the nightfall when it can be  seen even better? Perhaps they're joining in on other festivities like  the concerts happening in the area or other contests than the Pahffle  racing or perhaps they’re enjoying snacks in some more quiet area? Or  have they by any chance noticed what seems to going on with the Churbles  in the background?

[2023] exploring the festivities

Warm lights, soft chatter, the smell of roast duck and suckling pig. None of it seemed to extend as far up as Sebastian, where he stood dangling a bottle of cassia wine over the edge of his nightclub's roof. His neighborhood was quiet, and not everyone in the Digital celebrated the festival, but the smoke and laughter clung to his jacket anyway.

He sighed and slid down to the floor, tilting his gaze upwards instead toward the full moon. It was artificial, of course, as were all things in the Digital, but the engineers liked to sync the sky with the world outside. He couldn't say whether it looked any more or less fake than the real one. All the nights he had spent out there had been in hot bars and crowded alleyways.

Economically, it would have made more sense to keep his club open for the night. Psychologically, too, though he hated even admitting that. But it felt wrong, and he had already chalked in the closure weeks ago, so probably no one would have come anyway. Instead it was just him, alone, and the bottle of cheap cassia wine he had bought last week.

That was another stupid joke. At least it was one that tasted good.
