This is the dialogue I wrote for my graduation project game, with all the choices! I spent a lot of time on it, and I'm pretty proud, since I'm not really a writer, so I wanted to upload it and show it to everyone. It has choices, but it's not very complicated. I will link my finished project here when I complete it.

Medea is my only currently uploaded character who participates in it, and she is the Witch.

Intro

(hulptekstbox: Use A and D to move, or scroll. Use E to interact, select, or continue.)

A traveller arrives in the village. Right away, a resident approaches him.

"Hey, traveller! What brings you here?"

The traveller replies. "Nothing, just passing through. How so?"

The smith - "Oh, a shame. We have had a small... issue for a while."

"A year now, actually. Do you have some time to spare to help?"

The traveller - "..."

        "Sure, I suppose."

The smith - "Glorious! I'll tell the innkeeper to make your bed right away."

"Those others came into our town a year ago, and it's really time they're sent             back."

"You can go ahead and ask around for some information. I'll go work on an idea             of my own."

"...Though a word of advice, avoid the weirdos. They're not right in the head."

The player is now required to walk around town, and talk to the npc's. These are the dialogue options if they are selected.

1. The Witch - "I overheard. You're not supposed to talk to the weirdos. Get lost."

The traveller - "I need some info, can you help me?"

The Witch -     "Are you deaf? Go stare at that stupid door, or something."

2. The headless man - "*gurgles*"

-He does not seem to be very talkative, and you decide to leave him be.

3. The Liar -     "So amazingly marvelous to see you today, traveler!"

The traveller - "Hello. I'm looking for some help with your door-issue. Do you know anything?"

The Liar -     "Well, I'm sure that witch over there is very helpful! You could ask her?"

4. The smith - "Did you find anything yet?"

5. The innkeeper - "Patience, I'm not a miracle worker! Are you that tired?"

6. The mayor - "Hello, traveler. Is there something I can do for you?"

The traveler -     "Well, yes, actually. Do you know anything about the gate issue?"

The mayor -     "Oh, haha. Did our old smith get to you first?"

"I don't know much about it, but my daughter might. You could try asking her."

"Let me know if you need anything else!"

(note - the daughter doesn't appear until now)

The traveler - "Alright, thank you."

7. Mayor's daughter - "You're here about the gate."

The traveller -     "Yes. Do you have any ideas?"

Mayor's daughter - "Let's go check it out first."

If the player interacts with the door or the daughter, the middle starts.

Middle

(player interacts with door. If he hasn't spoken to the mayor's daughter before, she appears now.)

It's a stone gate, shut tight.

Whispers echo through the keyhole. You wonder if the lock can be picked,

1. The daughter - "What are you gonna do about it? Lockpick it, or find the key?"

The traveler -     "..."

(now the *new message*-ish icon appears at the smith and the witch.)

2. The headless man - "*gurgles*"

-To be honest, what did you expect?

3. The Witch - "What now?"

The traveller - "I'd really like to have your help."

The Witch -     "With getting the key? Fine."

"I'm not helping you with any thievish practices though, you can do those             on your own."

The traveller - (choice 1) "Alright."

(choice) "I'd rather look around some more."

(if the player chooses 1, ending 1 starts)

4. The smith - "Hey, traveler! You're just in time for my great breakthrough, come right in!"

(note - background from outdoors to indoors)

"I managed to make a contraption that should be able to pick the lock."

"Would you like to come with me and try it out?"

The traveler - (choice 2) "Alright."

(choice) "I'd rather look around some more."

(if the player chooses 2, ending 2 starts)

Ending 1

(switch Witch sprite to one with cube)

1. The Witch - "So. I came across this a while ago. Do you know what it is?"

The traveler -     "That's is cube."

The Witch -     "No shit, smart ass."

        The Witch sighs deeply.

        "Oh well, I suppose there's no helping you. It's a riddler's box."

"Want to try, and see what it has to say?"

The traveler -     "Well, I guess."

The Witch -     "Whoa, go easy with the enthousiasm there!"

        - The Witch fiddles with the cube. It makes some strange sounds, but then...

        - Whispers? Like the ones you heard coming from the gate before?

The cube -     "She provides a guiding light

Help us through the deep dark night

        Though never seen by day

        She never really goes away"

        - What is the answer?

The traveler -     (choice 1) "The stars?"

        (choice 2) "A lantern?"

        (choice 3) "The moon?"

        (choice 4) "Uhhh..."

If the player chooses 1 or 2, this dialogue starts.

The Witch -     "Seems to be wrong. Try again."

-The cube promptly falls apart to reveal a silver key.

(switch back to Witch sprite without cube)

2. The Witch - "Oh, you actually guessed it! Well done."

        - You stick the key in the gate's keyhole. The whispers coming out turn louder,             and you realise it's another riddle.

The Gate -     "I shine his light

        In the deepest darkest night

I am the lady of the ocean

        The shepherd of the seas

        Come see

        His shining light in me"

        - What is the answer?

The Traveler -     (choice 1) - "The moon again?"

        (choice 2) - "Uhhh..."

If the player chooses 2, this dialogue starts.

The Witch -     "You're not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, are you?"

        (reset dialogue to riddle)

If the player chooses 1, this dialogue starts.

        - The door slowly opens, to reveal a pretty landscape.

The Witch -     "Wow, that was such a challenge! Thank you, my hero!"

(show good ending image. The end.)

Ending 2

The smith -     "Now... let's put this on here... Turn it on... C'mon, do something!"

        - The smith hits his strange machine a few times.

        - A few small parts come rolling out, but eventually it turns on.

The smith -     "There's my baby!"

-The doors slowly open, and hushed whispers spill out the gap. You realise it's              a riddle.

The Gate -     "I shine his light

        In the deepest darkest night

I am the lady of the ocean

        The shepherd of the seas

        Come see

        His light in me"

        - What is the answer?

The traveler -     (choice 1) "The stars?"

        (choice 2) "A lantern?"

        (choice 3) "The moon?"

The smith -     "C'mon, boy, try a little harder!"

        (reset dialogue to riddle)

If the player chooses 3, this dialogue starts.

The smith -     "Hey, I think that did something!

(The gate opens, and the red whirlpool appears.)

The smith -     "That looks... Interesting?"

(Show eldritch monster coming out of gate)

The smith -     "Uh... Oops?"

(Show bad ending image. The end)
