Tapping her foot rapidly, the young hyena was waiting for her poorer Devon Rex friend to show up. Today she was going to teach her how to cook. She was excited to do so, but Maple, her friend was late. “Bro what’s keeping her?” she asked out loud. But no one was around to answer that question. Her mother, the goddess of Space and Travel was out picking something up at the store that she forgot to get.

She looks up at the clock one last at the clock. 20 minutes ago, she should have been there. “Okay now I’m getting worried. I’m going to go find her,” she said before grabbing her jacket to head out and find Maple. But before she could even open the door to head out, there was a knock on the door. Her head perks up and she quickly opens the door to see her friend bent over trying to catch her breath.

“S-Sorry about th-that Star, m-my mom had me he-help her with something and it took longer then it should of,” Maple explained.

Star shook her head, chuckling a little. “Well I’m glad you’re here now bro!” She then proceeded to give her friend a big old hug.

Maple hugged back after hesitating a little. “Heh, yeah. So, remind me what we’re baking again?”

“We’re going to make a cannoli cake bro!”

Maple looked confused as she tilted her head to the side. “Wait there’s a cake version of the Italian pastry?”

“Yep! ~ Now come on!” Star said before dragging her friend into the kitchen.

It took a good amount of time before the cake was finished. But after it was finished baking, placing the icing on top, and the mini chocolate chips they were able to eat and enjoy their creation. Little did they know though, as they were cooking, Star’s mother came back into the house.

“This is so good! I’m going to have to remember this recipe and try making with my mother some time!” Maple said with a little bit of icing on the side of her lips.

A chuckle escaped Star’s mouth. “Yeah, and you got a little bit of something on your lips.”

Blushing out of embarrassment, Maple quickly wiped it off. “Ah, th-thanks.”

“STAR!!! YOU AND YOUR FRIEND BETTER CLEAN THIS MESS UP!” Star’s mother said as she looked at the kitchen which was in a mess from them cooking.

Star chuckled nervously. “Guess we better go clean that up.”

“Heh, yep.” The two of them go into the kitchen and start cleaning up. But this allowed the two to spend some time with each other for a bit longer.
