Really just something random. May not be canon or consistent in the future.

The young prince leaned on the balcony, watching the bustling city below. At least, it was bustling to human standards. A part of him told him that this was very small, certainly not like human cities of the past.  Though from his history classes, he knew there had been none before of this size. It was some sort of ingrained, shared memory. A remnant of his kind. His antennae lightly twitched as he sensed a human approach. When he was younger, he recognized this as a fear response. But these days he knows its just being overly alert. Another ingrained memory of his kind- Some sort of innate fear of things that aren't them.

He wondered why this fear existed. He wondered what history his people actually had. But the thought process was disrupted by the cheerful voices of his childhood friends. Two human daughters from some of the noble families that were close with his adoptive father- The king. "Heeeeeey! Heeeeey!! Pierrick!" they called. He turned around, a small smile on his face. He couldn't smile too much, or it'd emphasize his inhuman mouth. He understood that it was a frightening sight to many to see his teeth poking out.

"Hey gu- urgh" He managed to sputter out before being suddenly hugged by the younger daughter, Sala. Despite her small stature she made sure to put all her energy into attempting to crush his fragile ribcage. The older noble daughter, Alynn, snickered softly at the sight. Once Sala was done crushing the poor young man, she gave him a gentle hug as well. "Are you brooding again?" She asked. "You know that can't mean anything good at your age- you're still a kid."
"Well if you consider how my kind ages-"
"That's just physical! You know in your walnut brain you're still a kid." She said, bonking him on the head gently. His antennae flicked in annoyance. Sala had begun leaning on the balcony as well, having pulled up a chair to be able to look over the railing more easily. "What's brooding again?"
"It's thinking too much and making yourself sad.", Alynn informed her. She leaned on the balcony on Pierrick's other side. The three of them were now looking out on the cityscape.
"Oh, well Pierrick you should stop thinking then. "

He didn't respond for a while.
"Can I tell you guys a secret?" He said, finally breaking the silence between the three. The clouds began gathering in the sky.
"What?"
"You both have to promise me to tell no one. Ever."
He felt a gentle hug at his side from Sala, and a hand on his shoulder form Alynn. That was enough to tell him they wouldn't tell his secret to any single soul.

"I think I remember a past I never experienced." He said "I know names. I know faces. I've seen the world end and at the same time I haven't. But when I looked in the libraries, I haven't been able to find any trace of these people. Of what actually happened." He told them, looking rather distraught about the memories he was recalling.
"Can't you ask any of the older Forestborn that sometimes visit about this?" Alynn asked.
"I tried, but only one of them looked like they knew. And they bared their teeth at me for bringing it up." He said.
"Woah- Really? Aren't Forestborn all friendly with eachother?" Sala questioned. Pierrick shrugged at that.
"I- And the other Forestborn in that moment- thought the same. But that one looked like they would have killed me." He said. "It was terrifying."
"Well, let's hope that you don't run into that one ever again." Alynn told him, patting his back.
"Yeah, I hope so too."

Alynn stared out, beyond the city. To the empty wastes beyond.
"So, the world ended huh?"
