Where there is light, there must be shadow. Shadow magic represents that which is hidden, that which is unseen, and all of that which exists. You cast a shadow of your own, proving your presence on Kyvalore. You have chosen this school of magic to find that which is lost, to master the unending darkness and navigate the shadows that others cannot see. Though many have taken this magic to nefarious ends, they have many good, proper uses as well. You could mask your presence, so that you could travel silently and safely through even the most dense of forests. Spies working in official capacities can keep the peace, and learn about threats as they are just beginning to conspire. Sentries and caravan guards can not only hide their presence until it is too late, but can scout the route ahead without fear. Whatever your intentions may be, your path to its mastery starts here. Find the darkest, most hidden places in the land, find yourself, and find your true spiritual connection to the dark.

Learning to bond with Shadows

After exiting the magic school, Cyra ran to other Voxibells to meet them. Each Voxibells were excited about what they were talking about. One spoke," Oh! It was exhausting! I wanted to be like a knight! The instructors had me running around everywhere." The Voxibell almost complained but still shown excitement for what they want want to work towards to. The others were also and equally as excited as they were talking about the elements, mainly fire, water, earth, and air. She then noticed that no one has mention shadow element. She was curious if she could find someone with similar interests and train together. Then she turned again to listen to one of the Voxibells," Since I want to focus on Earth element as my main, I may have to travel outside to learn all there is to the Earth element!" The other excitedly said," Same! I want to learn Air element." The smaller Voxibell was saddened," Aww. I hope you come back! And I wanna focus on Water element!" The one who wanted to learn Earth element felt and understood what the small Voxibell mean," Hey! Don't worry! We will come back and visit! We might send you letters too!" The small Voxibell jumped with excitement," Yay! Maybe I could come visit too!" Everyone nodded and continued," Hey! Let's go eat!" Everyone yelled out," YEA!" She smiled as she watched them go fetch food for themselves. She then sat down, feeling down, realizing she was the only one who wanted to learn Shadow element. Then she shook her head and held her head high. No matter! I can do this! One day, I want to have a good team to travel together with! She hopped up and jogged over to fetch her food. They are delicious! Ranging from fish to rice, even sweet summer treats! The chef held their head high and spoke," Come grab your fill. Can't be hungry when you will be training, younglin'!" She nodded as she grabbed her food. she walked over to sit in the shading beneath the large tree. The green dark shadows was casted by the dark green leaves of the tree. Large flat rocks was carefully placed around the tree. She grabbed the seasoned fish dish with the rice on the side and gave it a deep sniff. Seasonings on the fish gave a warm and spicy smell. The lemon on the fish was juicy and warmed by the fish. The fish was also cooked over a open fire to gave that extra crispy taste. She hummed with every bite she took and spoke with her mouth full," So good!!" As she continued to eat, she heard a little rustling noises, she looked over to her left, only to see a hiding Cookatiel Kipin. This little Kipin was peering from behind the small tree. She was watching this Kipin carefully as the Kipin comes waddling very slowly and cautiously. Cyra looked back to her food and realized that she doesn't have anything to give besides her already squeezed lemon and some fish left. She decided to give the lemon to the Kipin but Kipin kept a close watch on Cyra. The Kipin gave a poke with the beak and licked it. The Kipin gave a unusual look and grabbed the lemon. This Kipin gave a good YEET to that lemon over the bushes and Cyra gave a laugh and nudged her place with some leftover rice and fish. The Kipin licked the fish and started to munch on it. Cyra laid down and watch the Kipin eat. She then spoke softly," I think I will name you Lemon!" Lemon looked up and tilted its head but went back to eating. After eating her fill, she stood up to walk away but Lemon followed her. She knew Lemon will follow so she went towards to the Instructors to ask to see if they would allow such pets to enter the school grounds. She asked as she glanced to Lemon hopping over to her. Then Lemon hid behind her, giving a curious look to the Instructors. The Instructors chuckled and nodded," Of course! They are allowed to enter as long you take good care of them." Her eyes gleamed with excitement and looked over to Lemon. Lemon gave a cute squeak with excitement as well. One of the Instructor gave a good look and spoke," My! My! I haven't seen a Cookatiel Kipin around here in some time!" Lemon immediately hid behind Cyra once again. The Instructor gave a chuckle," Shy one, in fact. This one will open up to you in no time. Treat them well, young one." The Instructors sat up and nodded as they turned to enter the school. She gave them a nod as well and looked over to Lemon. She gave Lemon a bright smile and in return, Lemon gave a squeak with excitement. She laid down to let Lemon hop onto her back. As Lemon hopped onto her back, Lemon got themselves comfortable as Cyra stood up. "You ready, Lemon?" Cyra asked as Lemon squeaked in reply, hopping over to her head, holding on to her fur. She smiled as she reentered the school once again, ready to learn once again with fresh mind. Lemon was looking around with their eyes gleaming. The Shadow Instructor was waiting on Cyra and gave a smile," Oh! I see you got a friend now! What's their name, then?" She replied," Yes! I did! The name is Lemon! As this one doesn't like lemons." They gave it a good laugh and asked," How did you manage to find out that?" She smiled," I gave Lemon a lemon but Lemon threw it so far away." They both laughed as Lemon slid down to hid a bit with embarrassment." The Instructor turned serious and spoke," Alright, little one. Let's get serious. I will teach you all there is to the Shadow element and only Shadow element. Come." Cyra nodded and followed the Instructor. After entering the same room, the Instructor turned towards Cyra and finally explained the Shadow element in depth. The Instructor explained," Now. Shadow element, as you already know, is based on shadows and using shadows to their advantage. Where there is light, there must be shadow. The shadow shows and hides important details. You could become a spy, hiding among the shadows and watch others closely. You can explore the land without fear and perhaps give a lookout for your possible future team. As a Shadow element welder, it will be up to you to use the shadows to the fullest. It will be up to you to find the darkest secrets, deepest treasures, and the most hidden place on land." Cyra nodded as she sat down to continued to listen. The Instructor continued," Now, you must find your sigil. Find yourself. Take a deep breath." She took a deep breath and so did Lemon. "Show your sigil. Let your sigil form fully and stronger than before." The deep black color but faded sigil appeared above her head. The sigil was fading in and out. She then took another deep breath and focused on her sigil. Her sigil now became more bolder in black color. Lemon gave a sneeze with a squeak, startling Cyra. She jumped as Lemon fell off of her back and gave a questionable squeak. The Instructor gave a chuckle and said," You did it! Good. Now, we need to work on your focus a bit more. But first, I want to see if you can become shadow once again. Go ahead and try again!" Cyra shook her head lightly and gave a big nod. She then sat down and focused on her self once again to become shadow itself. Within a few moments, her sigil appeared much more bold and the shadows covered her entire body this time. She opened her eyes to reveal her bright blue eyes. The Instructor was happy," Good! Good! That's how you do it! Now, become one with the shadows that is in this very room here." She listened and looked around. Then she looked over to Lemon, she focused on herself and became the small shadow that was casted by Lemon. Lemon squeaked and hopped down but Cyra followed. Lemon was squeaking happily as she followed Lemon but soon broke off and became her own shadow. Lemon playfully followed her and squeaking. Learned this vital skill in one day was very impressive, little one. I wonder if your parents was a Shadow Element welder as well? She then reappear and said," This is very different! So different! I feel like I was shadow and very hidden." The Instructor nodded as they smile but gave no reply.

Few weeks later...

Over the course of a few weeks, practicing basic and simple to learn spells, she managed to learn most of them with ease but a few spells, some advanced spells and simple spells was already taught by her parents while outside of her magic school. Spells such as learning to hone her eyes and ears to listen in the conversations and becoming shadow itself was her main focus. Now able to find what is lost and perhaps, she will find a secret that she should not find. Not quite yet.. After returning home from her training at magic school, her mother was preparing dinner and calmly spoke as Cyra enters through the clean purple cloth that hangs over the door frame. The kitchen was very organized with varying of uncooked food and food items, each ready to be cooked. Cyra looked over to her mother and asked," Will you help me with shadow spells while you are here? At least before you go back to your job?" The mother nodded." Of course, Cyra. What do you need help with?" Cyra opens her bag and grabs the notebook, which she has written down notes and ideas of spells she wants to learn or try. The mother then looked in her notebook and replied," I see! They are actually quite simple. After we eat dinner, we will train outside." Cyra's eyes gleamed brightly. Lemon then hopped into the kitchen, looking for food. The bowl, full of varying bugs and fruits as well as lettuce, was prepared for Lemon. Lemon squeaked excitedly and start munching on them. After eating dinner, Lemon was seen hopping over to its warm and soft bedding. Lemon fluffed it and dug about within the blankets and snuggled in. The mother and Cyra went outside to the back door. Beyond the backdoor, was a small woods and mini garden, next to the building, which is shared with another family of Voxibells. As they went to the center of the area, the mother spoke as she goes into battle stance," Okie, little sweet pea. Come at me with all you got." Cyra wiggled her body and became shadow almost immediately, hopping from one shadow to another, ready to strike her mother. Cyra went behind her but got countered. But she didn't give up. She summons her shadow clones to distract her mother but all got countered within few moments. Cyra went and kept trying until she got tired. She panted as her mother sat down. "You did good! Now, let me teach you how to control someone's shadows, like you wanted to in your notebook." Cyra looked up with her eyes gleaming. "Now, without becoming shadow itself, imagine yourself as another form of shadow that is casted beneath you and rope it towards my shadow." She then focus on her already casted shadow, now attempting to move her shadow like a tentacle to reach out to another shadow. After attempts, this attempt was successful to connecting to her mother's shadows. Placing her mother's shadows under control. The mother continued," There you go, sweet pea! Now try to control it like it is your shadow." Cyra nodded as she took one paw step forward, so did her mother. Her shadow is now under her control. She then released her control. The mother was excited that her daughter was learning fast and with ease, like her when she was young. Then the mother nodded as she yawned," Alright. Time for bed, sweetie. You did good today! Since there is no school tomorrow, how about go out for treat?" Cyra was excited and hopped," Yes! I wanna go!" The mother laughed as they both reentered their home.
