Aconitira found herself squinting at bright lights, her consciousness slowly drifting back to her mind and body. She hadnt expected to ever see light again. How was she alive? Last thing she remembered was the worst betrayal shed ever felt. Far worse than her abusive father selling her to human traffickers. Memories came flooding back. 'That fucker...he tried to kill me...h-he tried...' her words broke off. Why? She had loved him. Fully and truly loved him, and she thought he felt the same. She was wrong.

She tried to lift her hands above her face to look at them, make sure they were real and she was truly alive, but only one responded to her call. Her brow furrowed as she looked over, seeing nothing. She shouldn't have been surprised given what happened, but she still bolted upright in shock and fear. A searing pain met her and she went into a coughing fit, her lungs sounding heavy and foreign. She coughed up thick and metallic blood as a figure burst into the room, gently laying her down.

Coni fought and struggled against the grip, but even with her towering size, she was far too weak to free herself. A soothing voice met her ears, sounding almost as if it spoke through water. "Please, you've had several near fatal wounds, you need to rest or your body is going to tear itself apart. Just rest, I'll get the details from you when you can properly speak." A hand rested on the side of her head, trying to calm the woman whos instincts were in overdrive.

She was trying to bolt but her body wouldn't listen, everything felt so heavy. She groaned, barely audible, the sound making her realize how dry her throat was, it felt shredded, as he injected something in her arm. Everything began to feel heavier still, even her eyelids. No. NO! She had to get out of here and get to him! She fought the drowsiness in vain as sleep took her.

The next few weeks she was in and out of consciousness. The mirrored ceiling let her look over her currently nude form. She didn't realize how close to death she had become. She remembered two wounds. The one to her neck must still be buried in her memories, which were still working to put together what happened. The stab to her somach she remembered as well as the wound that finally did her left arm in...never was up to par after her years as a slave, bones in that arm were always weaker. She even had a new wound to her face, just above the scar on her lip.

She could see she was losing weight being confined to a bed and spending 95% of her time out cold. Her muscles were tired and far smaller, but it would be a long time before she was at her peak level again, recovery like this was always slow, especially with someone as tall as her where weak muscles could mean inability to move her long limbs. She looked around the room as best as her restrained body could. She couldn't really see anything under the blinding medical lights. Nothing but her naked, 7'0 tattooed form strapped to a table, a man sewing a gash on her right calf back together.

"You're awake, im glad you made it through the worst of it. I was scared you werent going to pull through...more than once." He looked up, but nothing could be made out on his face, the lights obscuring everything but the handsome jawline. Why did the voice sound so foreign, yet so familiar? Had she hit her head and forgotten people? Or voices? Or was she still disoriented? Probably the latter.

The soothing voice spoke again. "Are you able to speak? Ive been working hard to keep you hydrated and to repair your throat." Oh right! Ale...her employer, savior, and close friend. Coni thought for a moment before responding. "I-I think I ca-an" Her voice was rough from lack of use. "Very good! Let's not push you too far though, its going to take you a long while before you're at 100%" She nodded, feeling herself drift back off to sleep. Then the P.I. came, Vera, her face was such a sight for sore eyes, Coni actually hugged her, and was even more surprised she hugged back.

"We'll find him, but i need you to tell me what happened. Any detail can help." Aconitira nodded at her dear friend and closed her eyes to think back to that night seemingly so long ago. She took a few deep breaths as she started to recall everything that had occured.

Aconitira stood in the rain, waiting for her fiancé after having just finished a particularly lucrative contract. She was excited to treat him to a beautiful evening. He knew her job, he knew her past, he wasnt bothered. Or at least...she thought he wasnt. She still avoided talking about her work, liking to leave work at work. She smiled seeing him approach. Pulling her hood down she had leaned down to kiss him. She noted a strange taste but said nothing of it.

He offered to take control of the evening, and she was more than willing to let him, he seemed excited after all. He took her hand and led her to a warehouse. She was about to question him when she felt a blade bury deep in her stomach. She'd been stabbed before, plenty of times actually, but seeing his hand on the handle sent a wave of shock up her spine. She stumbled back holding the wound. "W-Why? Raz, WHY?!" She screamed out to him as he spun the knife in his fingers. "How do you eliminate a true monster? You burrow so deeply into its life, it has full trust and zero doubt. You let your guard down and it has led to your demise. How does it feel Aconitira? The hatred on my blade?"

He lunged again and she sloopily lurched to the side. Her body felt like it was lagging as she gained a cut on her upper right arm. "You drugged me...when?" She tried to keep her mind focused, but it was racing. She hadnt even registered the tears pouring down her face. She was in agony, her heart and body. She felt she would implode. It made it impossible for her to properly plan her escape or attack. "Didnt you think that kiss was a bit strange?" He asked smirking like a hunter cornering its prey. Her eyes widened.

Another swing and sloppy dodge gained her a shallow cut just under her ribs, across her stomach. Her tears blurred her vision as she grabbed a crowbar and lobbed it, hitting him square in the head, though he didn't stop as blood poured down his face. She snarled never having felt pain like this. "I LOVED YOU!" "And I hated you" he replied cooly. As she avoided another strike she hit a stack of boxes, giving him an opening. He plunged the blade into her throat.

She gurgled out a pained cry as her hand went to her neck. Red filled her vision. A being she usually fought, she willingly let take over. As she held her hand to the wound a sadistic smile took over her features. "Adelaide..." Aconitira's grin grew, her voice having taken a one eighty, pitching high and wild as she responded. "Correct! Let me reward you for that answer!" She lunged at him, claws catching his face, ripping into his cheek, leaving four trails of blood running down his face in addition to the crowbar wound.

As she went to strike with her left hand, his knife found purchase deep in her shoulder, ripping out tendons and he twisted it. She cackled madly as she didn't even pause, left arm falling limp, right arm plunging into his cut, bladed nails slicing through flesh. He swung again, her left arm now dangling by only a few strings of flesh. She kept grinning. "She may have loved you, but i never did." She licked her lips.

She charged at him again only for her body to halt. A final slash landing on her cheek, just above and next to the scar on her lip "Youre at your limit. Youll bleed out in a few minutes, the world will have two less monsters." He watched as she collapsed. Aconitira returning, gasping for air through the pain. She spat up blood looking to her fiancé as he looked at her coldly. He wanted to see the life leave her eyes. There was such fear and hurt in those deep blue eyes now, it was quite beautiful.

"I...was just doing...what i...was made to do..." her breathing was slowing, and no doubt her heart was too. Not long now. There was the screeching of tires, car doors, and running footsteps. Raz growled in frustration, but turned to hobble off, barely conscious himself. Wouldn't matter, she'd be dead before they got anywhere near help. Aconitira weakly glanced at the quickly approaching figure as she lost consciousness. Darkness filled her vision, and she was positive shed never see it fade.

She couldn't hold back her tears as she looked at Vera. "Haven't i suffered enough? I-I thought my job, killing bad people, was the only safe way for me to exist...that people would understand." "Coni...and i mean this from the bottom of my heart. If your self image crumbles from what one fuckhead thinks of you, then youre a far bigger coward than i thought. THIS wasnt your fault. What you do is extremely illegal, but you were made this way, and its the only way you can live without losing control of what PEOPLE made you." Vera looked at Aconitira sternly. "Now we didn't go through all this effort to keep your ass alive for you to do nothing... we have some arms for you to try on." V stood to exit the room but paused as Coni spoke. "Vera? I love you, Ale too" "We love you too idiot. So try not to die on us alright?" She exited to room to leave the tall assassin with her thoughts.
