An Interesting Hike Pt. 1
Allen and Rush go on an excursion into the Wilderness outside the walls.
"Alrighty, ready for the hike??" Rush's head popped through the doorway, making Allen flinch again. "Yeah, ready!" He spun around to hide his surprise, throwing his satchel around his neck. "Great-!" Rush paused, eyeing the red device still left on the table. "Aren't you going to bring your inhaler..?" Allen snorted, his scowl returning. "Course not, I don't need it." "But the doctors said.." "What do the doctors know?!"
Allen stomped out of the door, brushing past Rush. Though Allen was quite short compared to him, (and everyone else, Rush thought,) he didn't dare try to stop him. "Allen, I've seen you walk around Origin before, you're out of breath after a flight of stairs!!" "Doesn't stop me does it??" Allen countered, giving his a piercing blue glare. "I'm not out of shape, and I DONT have asthma." Rush shrunk back at the menacing shadow over his face.
"Anything else you want to 'mom' about??" "No, no, yeah...no." Rush shook his head, getting the idea quite quickly. "Great, let's go then." Allen's glare dissipated, and the appeased look on his face returning as he marched out the door.
"Here you go." Michaelis walked up to Rush, handing him a bag full of food. "For the road." He smiled, making Rush's uneasy look fade. "You just can't reason with Allen, I guess." Michaelis murmured, watching him go. "But I think he'll be fine. He'd have to break a leg before he lets you know he's in pain." He grinned at Rush's loud laugh. "Got that right! ..Ah, I'll see ya then." Michaelis nodded, waving to the two as they trudged out of sight, towards the forest.
