Day 4

Laku looked down at the tiny winged black cat before him. Edgar stared back up at him eagerly.

"I... suppose we could try," Laku said hesitantly.

"AWESOME!" Edgar shouted excitedly.

Laku flattened his ears against his head at the sound. "Is there a way up to the city?" He asked, seeing that the cat was starting to flap his wings.

"Uh, yeah," Edgar responded, as though it were obvious, "Flying!"

Laku sighed in annoyance, "Edgar, I can't fly," He said bluntly.

"Oh... I guess I forgot," Edgar admitted sheepishly, "But I think there is a way up for those like you," He said, looking around, "There! There's a chain connecting the city to the ground."

Laku nodded solemnly and made his way over to the chain, Edgar chattering away above him. He had no idea how he was meant to climb a chain. A ladder, or even just a wall, sure. He could do that. But a chain? Not so much. Still, he knew that the flying void at his side would never stop bothering him if he refused. So, he started climbing. It was a very, very long climb. If he could, Laku would have taken a break. But he was scared of his muscles cramping and falling off. Understandably. He nearly passed out when he made it to the top. Scratch that, actually, he did pass out. Thankfully it was just for a few minutes. When he opened his eyes, all he could hear was Edgar's shouting, but all he could see was the city.
