Mini's Notes

-Illean is a princess who is a bit too self sacrificing for her kingdom so ends up getting herself into a marriage that she doesnt necessarily fully want. Looking for a mate that has highish position in their pride (so that it seems to be an advantage to get married)

-Illean goes to this far away pride to negotiate a peace treaty/passage when need be/some sort of resource?

-She meets Kibibi and does like her, but when she mentions even the slightest to her parents they get over excited. Illean doesnt correct them as she doesnt want to disapoint

And besides mayeb she will learn to love Kibibi...

But maybe Illean will instead end up breaking her heart >:) (Ohhhh! That whould certainly be interesting👀)

Other more general lore stuff

-The lavender royalty have had a problem with males dying due to a curse but thats broken by the time Illean gets into her marriage

Illean at the castle, gets told that she will be the representative going to another kingdom.

-Is there a festival in Kibibi's pride, attempts at a peace treaty? Or just seeing what the kingdom is like. (Yup! The whole pride whould often gather as they throw a big feast in celebration. This is the only time when the whole pride is allowed within the royal temple. The water guide of the pride whould be the only one who isn't present, as they are tasked to travel away to the endless depts to converse with their deties and possibly even the other pride's deities to ensure a healthy alliance.)

As soon as the opportunity had presented itself Illean had felt compelled to take it. Helping out her family was at always at the top of her mind, trying to prove that she wasn't like her sisters who were so vain and undependable nor like her cousin who didn't know how to be responsible. But if she was completely honest with herself it wasn't just that. It was escaping, even if just for a moment from her mothers' shadows. It was doing something for herself, being a royal who could do things for herself. Make peace treaties and negotiations by herself.

She loved her family. But sometimes they were just too much. Too colourful, too high energy, too coddling.

But now, staring out at endless sands as her carriage pulled onwards unerringly Ilean felt doubt creep in. It was the perfect place to start, surely. Somewhere so far away hoping no one would remember or know if she messed up. But it was so dry, so harsh. Just sand for as far as she could see. She gripped her necklace more tightly in her paw, a small bag for good luck, as well as containing a few riches.

The carriage rocked onwards. It did not care for Ilean's troubles. Not as long as the unicorn harnessed in front kept pulling. Even as the sun beat down, and the guards plodding alongside the royal carriage sweated and groaned their complaints.

It wasn't too much further though and they got sight of their final location. Or rather the huge gash that broke through the sands. A large chasm, sparkling and complex with the buildings located inside. Ilean gaped at it, a smile on her face as she took in the incredible sight. It was so different to her own home and kingdom, a flat and near featureless land until it was built up with grey stone and winding archways and roads.

And there, waiting to greet them was a convoy. Ilean could instantly tell the royal family apart from the others. By the way they stood, by the way the others around them acted. And yet it was strange to her, seeing how their pelts didnt differ from the commoners as her own royal families differed. They were an brilliant blend of browns and beiges that seemed to suit and complement their enviroment. Ilean felt a little like a sore thumb, as she descended from her plush and luxurious carriage, and yet the family seemed to not mind nor notice how her pelt seemed far more suited for a more planted area, far too green for these sands.

So swept up in festivities and pleasantries it felt like Ilean hardly had a moment to think for the rest of the day. She tasted and sampled fantastical food and negotiated, and complimented so many things about the kingdom and the lions within. It was tiring, even with the kind nature of most of the royal family, reminding Ilean so much of her mothers.

There was one exception though. Kibibi.

Speaking of which Ilean saw her ahead of her (weaveing her way trough the gathered crowds, makeing a straight beeline towards one of the temples). She skipped a few steps, catching up to the other lioness. She had been so quiet during the meetings, especially compared to her sister.

"Have I displeased you in some way?" Illean found herself asking, staring deep into vibrant green eyes. She could see the surprise, then something else before the other lioness blinked in a calming way.

"No you havent. Im simply not as outspoken as my sister."

"Neither am I. It gets annoying doesnt it?"

(The lioness chuckled coldly, green tinted optics seeming to flash as she rumbled lowly. "Annoying isn't even a great way to describe it." She raised her head as she silently regarded the lioness. "Shouldn't you be out celebrating with the rest? Instead you're here following after me.")

New Scene

Ilean expected more fanfare with her return. It had been so long since she had been home, an important journey too, for the future of the pride. And yet while she was greeted by various family members and civlians it took part of the day until she saw her mothers. They were in the nursery, cooing over a bright pink baby, with little golden horns. At the side stood Bahira, one of Illean's cousins mate and another lioness she didnt recognise.

"Ilean! Welcome home dear" Arilyn said, her green pelt dark even within the nursery's light. "It went well I hope?"

"It did Mum, I got the peace treaty all organised, and the prides lands and culture was so interesting."

"What was the royal family like?"

"They were good, the king was rather passionate, the heirs seemed responsible... and Kibibi-"

"Oooh one of the royals caught your eye then?"

"I-"

"I know that look, a princess took your eye." Kaley grinned at her mate, who nodded. "We would be happy to endorse and support a political marriage between you too. It could be good for the kingdoms."

"And maybe soon enough we can have more grandchildren again." Arilyn teased, sending her daughter a cheeky smile, before cooing at the pink cub again. "Just like you, right little Beri?"

"That's another relative?" Ilean asked, a little incredulously yet also resigned. Of course, her family was growing in numbers again.

And of course, she now had a marriage to set up, unless she wanted to disappoint.

But Ilean always had helping out her family at the top of her priorities.

----------

Moon's notes- After Ar Ramlah receives word of the arranged marriage, the whole pride begins to prepare. Kibibi becomes angered when she hears about the arrangement. She avoids her sister entirely and gives her father more then enough harsh glares. But on the other paw her mind begins to spin, she absolutely despised her sister for being first born and often regarded as the 'most important child'. Which was true and false at the same time. Ar Ramlah loved both his daughters and whould do anything for the two. But because if Inithia being the eldest, and since most of the pride holds great respect for her, she is the obvious choice for a heir.

-Ar Ramlah was suprised to hear that Illean is to marry his second daughter. He always thought that Inithia whould be the first. But he was delighted she may have found someone to love.

-With Kibibi soon to be married she knows how easy the position of queen whould fall upon her. So she goes along with it. But somehow finds herself to truely fall in love with Illean.

-But when she breaks her heart (if we like to do that👀) she whould begin not only to hate her father mutch more for causing sutch heartbreak, but her to be mate as well. She whould be more cold towards others and whould actually start to fantasize plans of vengeance. Becoming more and more calculated and never believe in the term 'love' again.

-----

Kibibi slid her gaze towards the caravan as the weird contraption rocked violently side to side over the rough terrain of her home. These lions were indeed strange, especially their various pelt colors. Yet at least Illean's pelt was quite pleasant to look at to say the least. The others however was giveing her an pounding headache. As the small shapes disappeared over the distant horizon the lioness found herself within her room, located deep witin the temple. She had barely shut her eyes when Aki burst trough the door.

She raised her head with an irritated scowl. The male shook his head as he began to speak, his head bowed down in respect. "My apolgies for disturbing your nap Your Highness. But i come with news" Kibibi's scowl only deepend but she waved a paw, an indication to continue. "The King and Queen of the pride Mystic Isles had offered their daugter's hand in marriage. As a political marriage you both will ens-" The warrior was cut off with a snarl. "Marriage?! And I have no say in this?! How dar-"

"I already issued the statement of your agreement to this matter."

She swung her gaze upon her king and her father. "I did not agre-"

"It's already out of my paws. You should be honored and it did appear that you like the princess. I saw you both talking during the celebration."

"That's it father we were talking! I simply do not agree with-"

"Kibibi please...for the sake of the pride and family, please go trough with this. I'll admit i was shocked to hear of the news. I had always thought..." He shook his head trailing away from who he was going to mention. She didn't need to ask. "All im saying is, Im proud of you. This alliance helps strengthen our tradeing routes and ensures the pride's safety."

She didn't awnser to that, her only response was to turn her back towards her father. With a deep heavy sigh the large male left, while Kibibi slowly started to smile as a thought struck her. For so long she dreamed to in a higher postion, not that her current rank was high enough. But the role of Queen needed someone who chould defend the pride with tooth or claw, not with some silly words of peace!

This here was a golden opportunity, and she well wasn't going to ignore this. In the end she prowled out of her liveing quarters, makeing her way towards the others to get herself ready.
