THE WORLD AT A GLANCE

The name 'Aliud' is derived from the Latin term 'orbis alius', or 'Otherworld'. In many mythologies, the 'orbis alius' is a space that can be considered beyond present reality. Although viewed as an underworld in relevant mythologies, it is ascribed characteristics similar to that of known existence. Despite death and danger within related narratives, there have been stories of people crossing an 'orbis alius'. This is a theme often present in folklore and mythological basis, particularly that of European regions. To this extent, what is 'unknown' has been intertwined with that of understood reality for ages.
