Hey! Welcome to the official species wordl for Paralites! Paralites are a personal species by CinderedCider, please avoid making your own without permission of some sort.
The point of this world is to be there for paralite owners to have a way to organize their characters into one spot. Most of our activities are held in our secret discord. I say it's secret but you can get in. Two ways to get in is to go to the bulletin linked (for CinderedCider's authorized list only) or be invited by someone in the discord server.
Paralites are parastitic after all, so it's known that they can be kind of sneaky, so we have our discord work this way.
The point and purpose of this world is only for paralite owners, which means you likely shouldn't join the world if you don't have one (or well, don't have the permission to make one yourself.) If you fall under those terms though, then you may be allowed to join the world.
What are paralites exactly..?
In the most simplest explaination, they are parastitic shapeshifters who find their way into society to feed off social interaction. They are encouraged to shapeshift as to blend in with their surroundings better anyways.
Why is it a personal species and not just a closed species?
Two main reasons really. One, it'd be really diffcult to physically track paralites, as there isn't really any defined traits. Every paralite looks different in their own way. Most don't even know that they are a paralite, so it's often very hard (lore wise) to track them.
The second reason is that since this species is correlated with my persona, I'd rather be able to track who does and doesn't get into it. This is also because I personally find the lore part more significant than even having traits, so there is no point to have it be a closed species.
I'm obviously not owning the concept of shapeshifting fitting into society, but just the lore and name of paralites (and my own designs for them). Hopefully this is able to be understood.
